Having pre-ordered this cd in January I have been eagerly anticipating its arrival and since receiving it last week it's never been out of my CD player. It's an album of 11 beautifully crafted songs with very poignant lyrics. This album is a real masterclass on what can happen when a group of musicians/friends, of the highest caliber who are on top of their game can come together and produce something of sheer class. This is definitely the best album they have every done, and has to be a real contender for AOR album of the year. There are no filler tracks here and all 11 songs are so different from each other. From the opening guitar driven "Running out of Time" through to the many twists and turns of "Great Expectations" you are taken on a great musical journey like no other. Although it has been many a year since their last studio output it has been definitely worth the wait.
It's great to have Joseph Williams back on lead vocals and Steve Porcaro on keyboards once again with David Hungate playing Bass on some of the tracks along with the ever present Steve Lukather and David Paich. Keith Carlock does a brilliant job on drums and has a very similar groove in his playing to the much missed late Jeff Porcaro.
High praise must also go to CJ Vanston for great production and drawing the best out of these great musicians. This is one album that everyone should have a copy of in their collection. I've been fortunate to have seen them live 5 times and have tickets for their up and coming Manchester concert in May and I can't wait. Do yourself a favour and purchase this album and listen to a real musical tour de force.

Everyone knows the classic live album's..... Live & Dangerous, Stranger's in the Night, Made in Japan and various Rush live outputs, the list goes on and on, and my estimation this stunning release from W.E.T has to be up there with them all. After being recommended the 1st W.E.T CD by Amazon, which I purchased, I was immediately hooked by the songs, the vocals and the stunning musicianship by JSS/Sall/Martensson/Henriksson/Back. Each song seemed to be as good as the next. Then I purchased "Rise Up" which saw the band come together in a stronger unit, again with excellent songs. When I saw there was to be a live recording being released as a CD/DVD I wondered whether they could produce the same class of excellence live as they could in the studio, and without doubt the answer is a resounding YES!! This is one live album that everyone should have in their collection. With the inclusion of songs from Talisman, Eclipse and Work of Art thrown in along side the W.E.T songs, this is a master class of what a great live album should sound like. And if that isn't enough we have the DVD to show what it was like being there on the night. JSS has to have one of the best rock voices, whether he is rocking out or singing a ballad, and to have the top level of musicians playing along side him makes for one the best groups ever and I can't wait for any future releases. Don't just think about buying this album, do it and you wont be disappointed.
