5.0 out of 5 stars An intriguing family drama - thoroughly enjoyable., 20 Aug. 2017
A really gripping story which has been a key part of the enjoyment of my holiday this summer. From the moment I started reading it, I was hooked. The characters are all intriguing because they are so real; we can understand what makes them tick, as the author paints a picture of how each family member has been shaped by the circumstances and time in which they lived, captivating the reader by flitting between different times and generations to reveal ever more tantalising details. The dénouement is played out in London, San Francisco and Yorkshire, drawing together all that has already been revealed to the reader, as we witness the effect of all this on the main character. Thoroughly enjoyable - I can't wait for the next book by Imogen Clark.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with this for a young child, 31 Mar. 2017

A very good light. My young grand-daughter loves this as her bedside light when she sleeps at our house. It's easy to use, and feels very safe. It provides a comforting, low-level light throughout the night.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful French film for children, 17 July 2013

This review is from: Ernest and Celestine [DVD] (DVD)
In French with English subtitles, this is a very enjoyable film. We have enjoyed it in the family, but I also teach French in primary schools and my KS2 classes have really enjoyed it. In England when a child loses a tooth and places it under the pillow, it's the tooth fairy that takes it away and leaves in its place a coin. However, in France, this job is performed by the little mouse - la petite souris - and this point of cultural information provides an interesting discussion amongst children in the class. As for the film, the graphics and animation are wonderful, lovely narrative and incidental music; food for thought about friendship, kindness, society, the law - altogether a lovely experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent carry bag, 17 July 2013

I travel a lot and need to work on the go. This bag offers great protection for my netbook, and I can fit in the flex and one or two extras too, without it being too buly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential planning aid for all who are involved in planning worship, 9 Aug. 2010
A week-at-a-glance diary in a handy compact size, together with a lectionary, make this an invaluable aid for all who are involved in planning worship in church. Useful for all who lead intercessions, plan music for church services, and who need easy access to the lectionary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for all who lead intercessions, 9 Aug. 2010
A really wonderful resource, a handbook to offer guidance and structure for all who lead intercessions. Linked to the lectionary, clearly laid out in Years A, B and C, there is a helpful structure for each week of the year. The structure is linked to the readings and psalm appointed for the day, and follows the widely-used headings of the Church, the world, the community, the suffering and the Communion of Saints.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful German teaching resource, 26 Mar. 2010
Having used the original Wer?Wie?Was? song cassette for many years in both primary and secondary classrooms, until my old cassette bit the dust, I was delighted to find that the songs are now available in CD format. The songs are absolutely brilliant for beginners in German - and work very well with children in Year 7, as well as the target group of primary-age learners. The songs do not focus merely on vocabulary-acquisition, but they also have a very helpful and easy-to-understand support for the understanding of grammar. I recommend this resource very highly!
