5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, 23 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered these last week for my son to try, and they arrived within 3 days. He loved them (so did I although I had to be quick to get any!) and were well worth the price. OK £10 for 8 small cakes is steep, but ive seen these for sale in Glasgow for £25 a box!! Would certainly order again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful....., 28 Oct. 2012
This review is from: Survival Of The Dead [DVD] (DVD)
Having watched all the films in the Dead series, this is by far the worst....there is no suspense, no fear, no gore, no story, nothing at all to make it of interest. It looks like they just gave up on the makeup and special effects, some of the "zombies" look like normal people!! The acting was so bad its hard to tell who is supposed to be a zombie and who is still alive!!! Even if you loved the first 5 films, this is going to bore you to tears. And seriously, how can anyone rate this as a 5 star film?? You think this is up there with any of the first 3 films??? Or your just voting 5 as you cant bear to admit George has made one huge dud of a film (and not his first by the way). Hopefully this proves to be the last in the series, as if its going downhill this quickly, its time to lay the Dead to rest, in more ways than one!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice presentation, but little new or unseen, 29 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book arrived today. Having looked through it, the presentation of the book is very good, the cover is a soft padded hardcover and looks impressive. The photos inside are all reproduced in good quality. The reason I have only awarded this 3 stars is if you are a Queen / Freddie fan and already have books such as Greatest Pics 1 and 2, Classic Queen, The Illustrated History etc, then you will have seen almost every photo in this book before. A handful were new, but not enough to justify a new book. So nice to have if your a big fan, but im not sure I will open it that often in the future.

This review is from: The Rolling Stones 50 (Hardcover)
Never been a huge Rolling Stones fan, liked the singles etc but that was about it. Recently got all their albums and love them now, so thought I would get this as it was at a good price on Amazon and its a great book, great pictures from all eras, would recommend it even if your not a fanatic.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, 21 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is interesting but anyone expecting it to include any new information about VH will be mistaken. No new interviews with the band members to update the story are included. However it is an interesting read, although you should be able to finish it in a day. Gives a good insight into the environment in the 70s that VH came from. I would say that VH appear throughout the story rather than being the main story, but if you like VH then you will probably enjoy the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Van Halens Heaviest, Darkest and Best...., 13 Dec. 2011
This review is from: Fair Warning (Audio CD)
I first heard this album on tape around 1985 after hearing 5150 and 1984 and was totally blown away, it was much darker than both these albums and i loved it from the opening riff on Mean Streets and I was hooked all the way through to the end. Listening to it over 20 years later and its just as powerful and stands up as one of Van Halens best albums, along with VH1 and 1984. Standout songs are Means Streets, Hear About It Later and Unchained, but really there isnt a weak track on the whole album. Eddies guitar work is amazing all the way through and Daves vocals bring the songs to life, with some of his best lyrics and lines. If you were going to start anywhere with Van Halen, this would be top of my list of recommendations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, 26 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Queen (Hardcover)
This arrived yesterday and is a great photo book of Queen through the years. Having bought almost every book issued about the group, this is certainly one of the best when it comes to photos. Lots in there i had never seen before, and much better quality than Queen, On Camera, Off Guard. Amazon has this as a paperback...but the book they delivered was actually a hardbacked book. Lots of pictures from all eras, although the text adds nothing new, but even so its a 5 out of 5 book if you like Queen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very detailed overview of Queen work to date, 12 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I wasn't quite sure what to expect with this book, so bought it anyway, and have to say im very pleased with it. There are no photos save for the cover pictures, but the author has obviously spent a lot of time putting together his thoughts on all the Queen songs / albums and tours and a lot of research into the background of each. The book is split into sections (Albums, Songs, Tours, Videos etc) and its good to read some of the stories behind each. A lot of the information is known, but as the book also coveres unrelaeased tracks its an informative read. Probably not for the casual reader, but certainly for the Queen fan who wants everything. Like any book of this kind, a lot of the song overviews include the authors own views on the song/album, so i found myself disagreeing with some of his views on which songs/albums were great and which were not so great, but thats half the fun of a book like this. Its very wide ranging and covers Queen, solo releases and pre-Queen releases. So overall an excellent book which is good to dip in and out when you feel like it rather than to read from cover to cover. The only ommission i could find was the solo track from Freddie "You Are The Only One" which personally i think is an amazing song and its a shame it was never completed, would have been good to find out more about its origins...maybe one for the updated version in a few years ;-) although having said that, i could have missed it...im away to check again!

3.0 out of 5 stars Some good photos, 3 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book just arrived this morning, and it has some good photos of the band relaxing and as the title says "off guard". Whilst the book states 65-91, it seems to skip from 1980 to 1991 in a relatively small number of pages. Some of the pics are a bit blurred, but still worth having in your collection if your a big Queen fan. Certainly glad i bought this book and i would recommend it.
