5.0 out of 5 stars Impressively high quality at a budget price, 7 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought these for running with. Really pleased, especially given the low price. Good sound quality, really comfortable (padded headband as well as earpieces), secure fit (no adjustment required while running), well designed controls that are easy to access. They also look and feel a lot more expensive than they actually are. Shuffle would have been nice, but not essential for me as I'll usually be loading on a running podcast and a few extra tracks at a time. Similarly AAC support would have been useful, but converting tracks in iTunes to mp3 takes seconds so I can't take a star off given how impressed I am with it in general. I'm not interested in the radio, and this is the only area that is attracting negative reviews (although you can plu the 3.5mm cable into the aerial socket which may improve performance). My only concern is battery life as the minimal manual doesn't seem to say anything about this, but other reviewers have had good experiences in this area. I was considering Bluetooth headphones to pair with my phone, but I'm really glad I found this cheaper and more elegant solution!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value, 15 May 2013
Screen protector needs to be placed very carefully to avoid trapping dust. Bit fiddly but this is the case with all screen protectors I've come across. The case fits well and does the job. Great value item and decent quality - thanks!

1.0 out of 5 stars WHY?, 12 Oct. 2009
Why release the theatrical versions and not the extended ones that everyone wants? With DVD at least they had an excuse in that the extended edits were still being compiled.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great content let down by the packaging, 23 Nov. 2005
Five stars for the episodes, remixed 5.1 sound and extras. Seriously let down by the packaging and a fault on one disc that prevents an episode from playing unless you watch it by selecting 'play all'. The TARDIS packaging is a nice idea and worked well for the old VHS release of Trial of a Time Lord (a nicely designed tin that was actually the same shape as the TARDIS). However, this new set feels fragile and badly designed. The holder for disc 2 fell out of the box when i opened it, the front flap doesn't stay in play despite a magnetic strip that's meant to keep the box closed and the material the box is made from is too easily scratched and dented.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great story - awful sound quality, 21 Feb. 2004
Whilst the story gets 5 stars it looks as though the BBC have had a problem with their new MP3 CD range. There are constant clicks and pops that are not present on the regular CD version. Also, the lack of proper mp3 tags means that you have to manually order the 200 odd tracks if you want to play them on a computer! Finally the tracks have been split up such that you get an irritating pause every few minutes.
I've tested the CD on a range of equiptment (Powebook G4, mp3 walkman, DVD player) and still encountered the same problems. I also had similar problems with the Complete Hitchhiker's Guide MP3 CD.
Looks as though the BBC need to recall all of their MP3 CDs and re-issue them. Its a pity because the format is a great idea that could have saved both shelf space and money.
