Years of distilled knowledge for the benefit of all., 30 Dec. 2012
I am new to vegetable growing, with my third season just about on the horizon. I have read a variety of titles on the subject and would write that, overall, this is the most concise and valuable yet. IMHO it is particularly useful for beginners such as myself.
From soil health to detailed weed control, no-dig philosophy to creating beds and paths, raising seeds undercover to sowing and planting, salads 'all year round' to 'must grows', this book is crammed with superb practical advice backed up by years of real world experience. The chapter on 'Tools' alone saves you the price of the book - advising only on what you really need.
Beautifully presented and with a flowing style, this will be a book I return to regularly over the coming years - for both reference and pleasure!
