5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, 7 Nov. 2016

Some books are so exciting you can't put them down and find yourself rushing to their climactic end. Others provide you with characters you get to know so well that you just don't want their tales to end. This book is a wonderful example of both!
I have followed Uhtred's journey from book one and each book has been believable and very well written this tenth book in the series meets all expectations and doesn't disappoint.
By reading these books anyone who's introduction to them was via the TV series will find that now they will gain entrance to Uhtred's thinking process and learn how he views his world, how he adapts to it and the strategies he employs to become the formidable character he is.
As to his quest for Bebbanburg you will just have to buy this book.

This review is from: 49 Arlington Gardens (Audio CD)
This is an excellent album with all the nuances of a sixties smash. It is such a shame that it is only now that this this wonderful collection of songs has finally been brought to our attention.
A wonderful, happy, uplifting and innocent album that takes you back to a time when the folk singer ruled and flowers in your hair were the order of the day.
More importantly this is an album that has stood the test of time and has a freshness to be appreciated

5.0 out of 5 stars A classic 'who done it?'., 2 Nov. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you haven't read the previous two books featuring the characters in this gripping new tale from Antonia Hodgson don't worry. This story stands alone as a classic 'who done it?'. The period features are excellent , dress, life style and dialogue are spot on. Plus it is very well written.
Once you have read this I am sure you will read the other two books as the hero and his friends will draw you in.

A long wait for this new book from Justin Hill but well worth it. Wonderful story, strong characters and very well written. The events and the writing just flow. An excellent read.
Some books are so good you wish you could read in one sitting, other books you never want to end - this is both!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Exciting Page Turner, 2 Nov. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having read the series of Fronto's adventures and found a couple lacking I was hoping this one wuld be a good one. I was not disappointed. This is an exciting read from the off. A good old 'page turner' and a great adventure for the characters we know so well. Not having to closely follow Caesar's diaries for this story has broadened the events it contains and give the author space to 'have fun'.
Buy it and you will too

Travels with Epicurus: Meditations from a Greek Island on the Pleasures of Old Age
by Daniel M. Klein
Edition: Paperback
Price: £6.49

4.0 out of 5 stars Over 60 and finding it harder to get it down with the kids? Slow down and read this book., 15 Dec. 2014
As one of the 'forever young' brigade who is a bit freaked at finding being old (65) is rather enjoyable this book put things in perspective for me. Plus it was written on Hydra, an island I have been visiting on and off for thirty five years. Will still wear my trousers too tight and my shoes too pointed but having finally found my 'ouzo at sunset' moment (read the book) will love every minute of being old

5.0 out of 5 stars A Celebration of Life, 12 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
All the books in this series have been good but none as good as Driving Over Lemons until now.
Last Days of the Bus Club captures Spain and Chris Stewart's life there in the same pace and level of detail as his first best seller. The stories are warm and interesting. There is even excitement as the local river floods. London school kids, a tuna festival and a saintly wife make this book a celebration of life

Lindsey Bareham is once again important in our kitchen.
Have a previous one pot cook book from this chef which has rarely been used due to unexciting recipes. This book however is a permanent fixture in the kitchen as everything we have cooked from it has been a success! One Pot Wonders is a title that doesn't lie .
Every recipe has produced simple, tasty, honest, good time, comforting food. There is a great collection of dishes to cook. Soups , stews, pasta, rice, noodles, European, Asian - lots to enjoy.
Try the duck with haricot beans or the Moroccan chicken pilaff -you can't go wrong

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Willy!, 9 Oct. 2013

You should all know that Christian Cameron is well versed in the ways of Greeks and Romans but how does he fare with the chivalry of England and France in 1356? The answer is with all the detail, knowledge and flair needed to produce an exciting new novel that is equal to his best.

The characters are believable, the story is exciting, the facts are interesting and the world that you enter is real. As, I was surprised to find out, is the larger than life hero. Yes, the wonderful William Gold actually existed and I hope will appear in may tales to come.
