2.0 out of 5 stars Oh crikey i paid full price?!, 14 Sept. 2014

So far so average...

Fight to location... protect ghost until it downloads... Repeat until bored. The story missions are just not very good.

Patrol is fun until you realise you can stay in one spot and all the enemies you just killed will re-spawn handily in front of you. Repeat until level 20.

Multiplayer is really poor... it is an evened out playing field so no point in grinding to level 20. All the guns appear to the same damage per bullet so just find the fastest firing and you will win. No advantages or point whatsoever to using the hand cannon or sniper rifle... just get a machine gun and be a titan class and you will win.

So far strike missions are the only redeeming feature... join two colleagues and fight your way to an end boss. It is actually vaguely rewarding until you realise that your hard work buys you... a different shaped space ship which does nothing different to your original spaceship. It just looks different. Same with jet bikes.

Remember those missions on the original Halo where you trudged through the library for hours fighting the same enemies while the librarian slowly opened another door? That is Destiny in its entirety. Nothing new. No multi-use vehicles where one player drives and others climb on and shoot. No clever plot with a compelling hero. Just kind of dull.

But it is pretty...

3.0 out of 5 stars I didn't really like the "biographical" writing style, 5 July 2014

Inventive but slow to get going. I didn't really like the "biographical" writing style. All in all it was a little disappointing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not his best...., 18 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not up to his usual standards....
Alastair Reynolds has contrived to make this book ponderous and at times un-engaging. For the first time ever i found myself skipping whole paragraphs which seemed dull and pointless. It takes a very long while for this book to get to nowhere surprising. This is particularly disappointing when Blue Remembered Earth was such a promising start. I have a nasty feeling that Mr Reynolds wrote this book because he had to... not because he wanted to.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your cash, 1 Jan. 2013
This review is from: Far Cry 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
This game sacrifices playability for lame story telling and rubbish cut scenes or hallucinogenic button mashing. It's close to awful. When it does allow you to play freely it can be quite enjoyable. Sadly though you soon have to return to long cut scenes which you cannot skip. Spend your money elsewhere is my advice.
