5.0 out of 5 stars Top Class debut!, 17 Aug. 2013

The first album by Jon "The Reverend" McClure's Reverend and the makers is one of the great debut albums of all time, giving a critical and comprehensive view of English society and in particular Sheffield, The State Of Things is just that, a view of the state of everyday life in the north.
An album not to be missed, a true Indie/alternative classic including the popular songs Open Your Window and HeavyWeight Champion of The World.
Buy this album!

ANNA, the Courteeners third album is by far the most pop-y, accessible album the Manchester lads have made to date
Many of its songs are just anthemic and fantastic to listen to.
An amazing record

The third album brought a change of direction as the lads were forced to stop singing about nights out in Sheffield and girls at bus stops as they no longer lived in that world.
Much more mature and technically refined album than the first two and the link between that and there new material.
Its got a good range of pace and energy, with the fast and hard Crying lightening, Pretty Visitors and Potion Approaching. Then there's songs that lull and swell like Dance Little Liar (one of their finest works) Fire & The Thud and My propeller which are almost hypnotic, and finally it has a good share of slower songs, almost ballads in some ways, these come in the form of Cornerstone and Secret Door.
Brilliant on vinyl, a must have for any Arctic Monkeys fan.
