5.0 out of 5 stars A jar of fascinating snippets, 27 Aug. 2016
Four or five star is a difficult decision because there are 64 contributors and one does wonder how much editing those many well known names have allowed! I've plumped for five because, when honest, the contributions are startling and arresting. In essence, this is a noble, insightful and funny endeavour. It's undeniably interesting to witness the well known struggle with their egos: is this just an opportunity to add to their 'Look At Me' public selves or really share those finely balanced decisions and feelings at various turning points?

3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe too early to say, 12 Aug. 2016

The supplier has asked me to post a review, when I've only used this product once. All I can say is that this is a solid shampoo, but expensive and doens't yield instant results.

The red isn't red; it's closer to salmon; aside from this, sturdy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hello again, 27 April 2016
This review is from: The Tunnel [DVD] [2013] (DVD)
Yes, nicely done, but if you've watched The Bridge, don't bother. Same thing again, plus the same character quirks: a French (this time) female cop who picks up men for a quick cop off.

3.0 out of 5 stars The moment to leave the series, 25 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well, this series is the moment I parted company with the series. The grotesque, unbelievable voilence aside, the writers are marking time. The original set up was clever and intriguing and complicated. This series simply plays out, rarther half heartedly, what is leftt from the first two; not clever, not intriguing and not complicated. Just a number of simple stories interwined. The other problem is the main character who is nuance free. As is his direction: three, maybe, set faces (mainly one) and you've had your lot. Sorry, folks, this series has collapsed with repetition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too cold for enjoyment with unbelievable moments, 19 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: 100 Code [DVD] [2015] (DVD)
A curious series: energetic, but not wholly engaging. To enjoy it, you must have a taste for bizarre, artful and extreme murders. The two detectives don't bond ,so their relationship doesn't develop - not much to enjoy there. The relationship between the Swedish detective and his daughter is sensitively drawn and acted and, as a character, his daughter is the most compelling. There are, unfortunately strikingly unbelievable moments. Without spoiling things, here's one. There's a moment when one of the killers is confronted by our two hero detectives on a motor boat that he is driving. The killer subdues one with an injection and tosses him overboard. There's a long stare between the killer and remaining detective who finally decides to drive over board to save his partner, rather than do in the killer. And he does meet up with his partner, underwater and, here's the thing: at night! How can he possibly find his partner without goggles when the boat has travelled in dark water?

1.0 out of 5 stars Supports a flea ... maybe, 13 April 2016

It won't support a flea let alone a human being. Even glueing the joints didn't work. I'm going to have to support the joints at either end with addtional wood runners this weekend to see if that works.

3.0 out of 5 stars Semi-developed snakes and thugs, 25 Jan. 2016

The detailed commentary already available for this title can be, broadly, echoed. There are no redeeming features for any of the characters who are large children. Because there's no depth, no remorse, no misgivings, no ambiguity, just be warned, this is as interesting as a middle range computer game. Yes, there's style and story, but the characters are one dimensional.

5.0 out of 5 stars An outstanding series, 29 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Justified - Season 6 [DVD] (DVD)
This is because of the writing (how many series stagger on with the actors/directors trying to make sense of what little they've been given?), the casting (you can't imagine the actors outside their roles), the location (a place so real yet so out of time) and the production values. The last season maintained the standard with only one flaw. Can anyone explain how Boyd managed to come down the mountain and confront Avery so quickly? No, neither could I. This aside and, like many other reviewers, mourning the ending of a beautiful thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superior series, 10 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The only reason why it's not five stars is that 'love it' is the use of the word 'love' for something that isn't a person. That aside, this is well written and acted. The characters are nicely nuanced. Each episode has engaging courtroom jeopardy. A truly satisfying series of evenings ahead if you purchase this.
