Lady In Gold
Lady In Gold
Price: £9.99

2.0 out of 5 stars Sellout!!, 22 Aug. 2016
This review is from: Lady In Gold (Audio CD)
What happened to this band? Where's the guitar gone? This is obviously an album pandering to the record company who must have wanted Elin Larsson brought to the forefront. The first album sounded like a band. This sounds more like a solo album. More Gospel than rock and not the progression some may have you believe.

3.0 out of 5 stars Has Its Moments., 6 Aug. 2016
This review is from: Inglorious (Audio CD)
An album that has its moments but Nathan James seems to be out there for fame and fortune and If something better is offered to him I think he will drop these guys like a stone. Like another reviewer said these guys are never going to make it. There's just too many similar sounding bands around at the moment. Saw them live recently and they go through all the motions but when the best crowd reaction is for a cover of I Surrender then that's a bit worrying.

1.0 out of 5 stars Utter Rubbish!!, 6 Aug. 2016

Sounds like a naff 1960s American pop group with some heavy riffs thrown in. Puerile. If I made music like this I'd wear a mask as well.

Oliver/Dawson Saxon - Live [DVD]
Oliver/Dawson Saxon - Live [DVD]
Offered by M & L UK
Price: £4.09

1.0 out of 5 stars Shoddy Insult!!, 26 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The menu page is a shot of the current Saxon line up with Biff, Doug Scarrett etc. Band are miming to their live album. They are obviously not playing to an audience but every so often there will be a cut to an actual sparsely attended live show. Songs are intercut with home vide footage of the band acting like a bunch of old twats. Saxon biography is actually a bit of an insult to the band. Extras is footage of the real Saxon (inc Scarrett!!) Used to like Oliver Dawson Saxon but this is a real shoddy product and if youre wondering what happened to the comedian Billy Pearce he now sings for OD Saxon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slow but gory!!, 28 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The first 20-30 minutes are like watching paint dry but once it gets going there are plenty of gory moments such as a woman having her face burnt off with a bunsen burner in full close up and lots of point blank shootings to remind you this is a Luci Fulci film. The fight sequences could have done with being a bit longer but its worth watching for the reasons stated above if youre into that sort of thing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Heavy Rock CD!, 28 Jan. 2013

This is the first Jorn cd Ive bought and I really like it. Its a pure heavy rock cd for fans of the 80s style. The overall theme is that Jorn is a rock singer and hes proud of it. Ride To The Guns could be Iron Maiden with a new vocalist, there is more than a trace of Dio here of course & some of the lyrics are reminiscent of Manowar but Im not saying hes ripping anyone off. Its a great album for fans of those bands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Their Best Yet!!, 19 Nov. 2012

Being a Survivor fan I have gone on to buy all the Pride Of Lions cds and this is easily their best yet. Great catchy songs with the usual soaring vocals. Is Vital Signs the missing title track left over from the original Survivor album? Not sure but this CD brings back those days more than most AOR cds Ive heard lately.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Blast From The Past., 14 Nov. 2012
This review is from: Never Too Late (Audio CD)
This is a typical Jimi Jamison CD. Great but no real surprises. Very Survivor sounding (Shock!) If you are Jimi or Survivor fan you will love this but all his CDs are kind of melting into one now apart from History by One Mans Trash where he co-wrote all the tracks and is superb.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nightmare AKA Smoking Is Great!!, 16 Jun. 2012
This is another good supernatural crime thriller from Stephen Leather but I have to ask myself has he got shares in the tobacco industry? There are regular discussions throughout the book about the joys of smoking and previous books also featured similar sequences. Apparently, cigarettes keep him slim, revitalise him etc. It can get a bit tiresome to a non smoker.

3.0 out of 5 stars Is This Really All Live?, 23 Mar. 2012

This review is from: Speak Of The Devil (DVD)
As usual with an Ozzy live dvd the vocals sound like theyve been lifted directly from the studio albums. The mixing and sound is exactly the same. To me it never sounds right compared to a lot of other live dvds. I remember a scene from The Osbournes when the family were singing Xmas carols and when Ozzy sang he was obviously miming!! The band are in good form and a Tommy Aldridge drum solo is always good.
