The Quest (The Egyptian Series Book 4)

Have not read a Wilbur Smith for some time and thought I would try a book from a previously admired author.
Boring. Fanciful. Stupid. Outrageous. Predictable. Surreal. What a disappointment.

If you liked the first two in the series, you will definitely enjoy this one. Uncertainty from start to finish.

Not the very best of Grisham, but a good read. A good book for sitting on the holiday balcony after lunch for an hour or two before you bid off :-)

It is new to me and not quite hot the hang of it yet, but I can see it becoming addictive

Great little time spinner. Got five minutes to waste or sixty minutes to challenge yourself then this is perfect. And for free !!

Unforgettable read with hugely powerful, evocative and emotional narrative into a not very popular subject of fictional writing laced with .massive factual insight on this terrible period of war and tragedy.

Enjoyed the first book but found the second one a little thin on substance and interest. I will however attempt to see them through to the end by reading volume three.

The Templar's Apprentice (The Outremer Chronicles Book 1)

5.0 out of 5 stars An unexpected gem, 21 Nov. 2013

An excellent read from a novel I half expected to be just another battle and battle adventure. But no, a genuine story that held my attention and I always wanted to read just one more chapter. Great well constructed characters and locations. Can't wait for second book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eventually a fascinating read, 1 Oct. 2013

At times I thought about putting the book down, but all of a sudden I picked up the direction of the story and many mixed emotions made me want to keep going and get the whole book read, and quickly. One of the few books I have read which has truly made me think about modern life and values and whether our modern society is actually progressing in its development or merely masking its faults with falseness. A thoroughly recommended read and one I urge you not to give up on if you take a while to get in to it.

The Sins of the Father (Clifton Chronicles Book 2)
The Sins of the Father (Clifton Chronicles Book 2)
Price: £1.49

4.0 out of 5 stars A real gripper of a story, 25 Sept. 2013

Hugely interwoven set of timelines which maintain interest and suspense throughout the novel. The ending is one of the most cliff hanging scenarios I have come across.
