2.0 out of 5 stars I found these gloves very poor as winter cycling gloves - I have only worn ..., 7 Nov. 2014

Well, I found these gloves very poor as winter cycling gloves - I have only worn them once, in a downpour. The cuff is too short, meaning cold air went up my sleeve. There is also not a good seal at the wrist, leaving a hole. The gloves didn't seem waterproof and my fingers quickly got cold. Overall very poor - back to my sealskins...

And many thoughts on leadership. Really enjoyed this book - whether you are interested in military history or not I would strongly recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars not sure, 30 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
An eye-opener to the 'real' SAS. In some ways reality is quite disappointing - compared to the heroics of Bravo two zero. Too much time was spent criticising the other books written by SAS members though. I did like the thoughts and description of leadership - the right man for a difficult job.

2.0 out of 5 stars A succinct review, 10 Sept. 2013
I'll keep it short - utter pants.

Oh, and the rabbit sled was a new low for the series.

Tolkien fans - avoid at all costs and get the animated Lord of the Rings to remind yourself what Tolkien can be like (one of life's great sorrows that it was never finished).

5.0 out of 5 stars A revelation, 6 July 2009
Wow - first mac, and I just can't get over how great this is. Screen fantastic, Mac OS X incredible, I love the software that comes with it (Garage band in particular - free lessons to learn the guitar and piano). Touchpad gestures are great. Above all, the battery life is superb - easily getting five hours in reasonably low use. Yes, the price is much higher than many Windows notebooks, but you get all the above with this.

If you do want to run Windows - you can via Bootcamp. Can't see this happening though!!

The only slight niggle is the lack of Blueray.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great film, 1 April 2007
This review is from: Children of Men [DVD] [2007] (DVD)
Hmmm... I don't know which version of the film some of the other reviewers have been watching, but I thought it was a fantastic film.

Some reviewers are complaining that the cause of infertility is left unexplained - but why does it need explaining? I think we have got used to Hollywood style films where everything is neat and tidy.

Acting is of a high standard, and I particularly liked Michael Caine's performance (the soundtrack is also very good).

I strongly recommend that you watch this film yourself, it is well worth your time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Read before you buy, 21 Mar. 2005
I have a Sony NW HD1 but I am pretty confident that the problems with the NWHD1 remain on the HD3. I won't cover the good points as the other reviewers have listed these:
There is no ability to create playlists (as far as I am aware). This is a killer for me as it should be one of the main selling points of a MP3 player.
The software is not very good - for example, if you want to delete a tune from the player you have to delete the tune from both the player and the computer, otherwise the tune automatically re-installs - extremely frustrating. Also, it does not allow you to change the order of songs within an album.
Does not accept WMA format.
The screen is awful - very dim.
There is no menu option to allow you to see all the tunes in tune order - this is frustrating when you have a large number of tunes.
I would definitely not buy this again - very disappointed (especially given the price).
