5.0 out of 5 stars Great book with very easy to follow recipes, 13 Feb. 2010
This review is from: The Italian Diet (Paperback)
I bought this book on the back of reading the other glowing reviews, and I'm happy to I wasn't disappointed at all :D

I've just had the tuna and anchovy fishcakes for lunch and they were fantastic! I highly recommend this book whether you are looking for diet recipes or not.

The recipes are very easy to follow, there aren't a huge amount of ingredients needed for each recipe either. Also, most of the ingredients can be found in the supermarket, if not all of them. They're not going to break the bank.

There are plenty of pictures, which of course is brilliant for guidance. I'm really pleased that I bought this book. Anyone who is looking for easy, cheap, tasty Italian recipes....get this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't get caught in the Harry Potter trap, 18 Feb. 2003
Other reviews have said that if you like Harry Potter, you will like this book. That is not true. To be honest this book is nothing like HP other than the fact the story centres around children. It is however good in its own right. The story about a little girl, Lyra, in a weird version of our world is very interesting. Although apparently this book was intended for kids, i dont know if im just slow, but i found some of the plot quite complicated and heavy-going. So yes this is a great story, but it's not light reading and nothing like HP/LotR.
