5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful, theological and practical, 26 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It is not often that you get a book that is both theological, practical and helpful especially on the subject of Worship! Yet as the title states this book does not get bogged down in traditional vs modern, organ vs drum debates. Worship is primarily engaging with God, all else flows from that. It puts the cart before the horse!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for study, 26 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Basically the book is made up of the overview sermons Mark Dever preached at Capitol Hill baptist. Function as a sermon version of the introductions a study bible has for each book. Provides helpful guidance of themes that develop throughout each bible book. Don't expect everything in the book to be covered, they are overviews.

The Haughey File: The Unprecedented Career and Last Years of the Boss
by Stephen Collins
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Unprecedented indeed!, 26 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
C.J. Haughey controversial to this day. This little book provides a brief overview of haughey's political career in a short
and highly readable book. It was written shortly after Haughey left office so does not cover the Dublin Castle revelations that followed. It is a fair and balanced look at Haughey years in power.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, 26 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A great weekend read - looks at the Ocean Liner competition that occurred between the US, UK and Germany before the first world war and how for many years the blue ribbon race channeled the aggression between both sides in a non-violent manner until political events overtook it all. Captures ship life and personalities of those years well and reads like a thriller in some places.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pastoral and balanced, 26 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Jesus the Son of God (Paperback)
The recent debates about the titles used to describe Jesus in missionary contexts are overviewed and dealt with in a carefully exegetical and pastoral manner. Highly recommended for all seeking clarity about what the Bible, and Hebrews in particular, mean when they give Jesus the title of Son of God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Biography, 26 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Zwingli (Paperback)
Due to the fame of the other Reformers Zwingli gets pushed to the side a bit, which is a shame. This resource in english is one of the few biographies available to us. It is both scholarly and yet an enjoyable read. Highly recommended to any wanting to find out more about the reformer of Zurich.
