Enjoyable tale of early Hawkwind informative and entertaining from Nil Turners point of view. It's a fine effort and never boring telling the saga up to 1976 and very much reflecting the zeitgeist of the time and the excellent music as well as the band's politics and its effect on the music ,that said whoever you believe it's a glorious history and a real page Turner with some good pictures and quotes from the cast of musicians and if you like hawkwind essential reading loved the tales from the days of the underground to pop stardom with silver machine almost surreal in places but a very pleasant read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wilko, 27 Aug. 2016

Wonderful read about the continuing life and recent ill health of Wilko,a true tale of survival and bravery in the face of death. Telling of his earlier life leading up to the triumph of doctor feelgood and to the blockheads and Wilcox Johnson band. All told with honesty, humour and a real passion for music and life.Roger Daltrey features on the hit going back home.Wilcox telling of his life with wife Irene is touching and heart warming.Wilcox is quite the character and much more than an excellent musician do yourself a favour and spend some time with him and then buy some of his music you won't be disappointed.

This review is from: A Hart Life (Kindle Edition)
The most honest rock biography you will ever read ,find out the truth about Ritchie Blackmore and rainbow and the inner workings of deep Purple, hilarious in places you could not make it up . Colin tells of his life as a roadie and all the work and leisure activities involved as well as his early days working with bands . If you like rock stories i recommend this enjoyed it thoroughly , well written and reflective i could not put it down. spinal tap was only the beginning ! Dont get me wrong still love the music but this adds colour to say the least.

Wonderful book worthy of Stiegs legacy deep dark story and great characters .Complex and interesting a book to be devoured and enjoyed combining investigative journalism, cyber crime and taking the darkness from which Elizabeth Salander has evolved from to new depths.Vast storyline a real page turner with a satisfying conclusion ,so good it deserves several readings and its full of surprises so hope there will be more a memorable addition to an already classics series enjoyed every word.

Loved this joyful story about the journey of a 13 year old witch in her new town and the experiences she has there ,wonderful animation and good voice action ,Kikis sarcastic cat made me laugh . Really enjoyed this very relaxing and enjoyable more so if Japanese animation is a passion, musical soundtracks good too ,found the whole film delightful and had to get it after seeing it on film 4.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ritchie Blackmore, 29 Jan. 2016

Glad there is a film about Ritchie Blackmore his musical talent and history deserve it. However theres lots of interviews and for me not enough on the early days especially pre deep purple and indeed in Deep Purple ,though this is interesting and welcome its not essential viewing and whilst worthy seems a missed opportunity to examine a fascinating musician and character.looked forward to seeing this and felt underwhelmed afterwards. Not bad just could have been so much better as theres loads of material out there i suggest you use this as a beginning rather than an end though for the casual viewer its ok.
