5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning piece of kit., 6 Mar. 2014
I have had a Vita Slim for a few weeks now and i have to say just how impressed i am with it.

Some people claim the Slims LCD screen is inferior to the original Vitas OLED screen yet im seeing nothing but goodness, honestly the games look gorgeous on the new LCD screen. I was playing Rayman Origins and was truely impressed with how good the game looked on the Vitas screen, infact it looked as good if not better than of the home console versions.

The console is very comfortable to hold and i didnt get any cramping in my hands like i do with my 3DS after long gaming sessions. The analogue sticks are very responsive and feel better than the PSPs analogue nub, and the face buttons which look quite small posed no issues for me.

The touch screen works great just like you would expect and the rear touch pad is responsive and works well in the games i have played that supported it.

Vitas speakers sound fine and are around 15% louder than the original vitas.

Overall its a cracking machine and well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars SVR 2010 chain grapples are back!, 29 Nov. 2011
this isnt so much a review of the game but a quick heads up about the controle system! ive read pretty much every review for this game and not once did i read that this time around the developers have brought back the chain grapple system from smackdown vs raw 2010!

when you grapple someone (by pressing a direction and the A button), by pressing the right anolog stick up,left or right you can change positions allowing you to do a total of 12 front grapple moves, and by pressing down you go into back grapple. when someones groggy you have access to a futher 4 front grapple moves.

All the reviews i have read say the game will choose the moves for you depending how worn down your opponent is,making the pacing of a match more realistic , so you end up doing the same moves a lot. nonsense! they didnt read the manual!

the new controles do take time to get used to,but they are fine once you get used to them.

and as far as the reversals go, this year they take time and skill to do them, rather than hammering the buttons. when i first played the game i counterd nearly every move. it helps if you know the timing of your opponants attacks.

4.0 out of 5 stars old school action, 26 July 2011
This is a spin off of the low budget Earth Defence Force series made by an american devolper instead off the original japanese team(who are working on EDF 4) and as a result this are a bit differant this time around. Dont let that put you off though as the game is still imense fun especially in split screen mode or 3player co-op online. The premise of the the game is simple, giant bugs and robots are attacking the city and its your job to stop them, your never told why they are attcking but thats irrelevent because its not about story here its about action, and this is what the game delivers in spades. Choosing 1 of 4 diffent soldiers(which you can level up to get better amour, weapons ect.)you shoot, derstory, stamp and crush your way through 15 missions of arcade action, taking out giant ants, spiders, 100ft tall robots and half the city to boot(all buildings in this game can be destroyed) its tremndous fun but the game is quite short, around 3-4 hours on fisrt playthrough on normal setting but thats not really an issue as the game has good replay value. Once finished you unlock a remixed campaign mode which is a bit harder than standard campaign. Also availible is survival mode which sees you(or up to 5 other team mates online) stay alive as long as you can racking up big scores agains never ending swarms of bad guys.

The graphics in this game are average at best, being a budget title thats what you would expect but the frame rate stays steady 90% of the time only dropping now and again, its not as bad as the other guy reviewing this game said, trust me. The game does play a bit diiferantly compared to the last game(EDF 2017) which may upset some fans(the levels are longer, the enviroments are less varied and it does get a bit more repetitive) and its a game that your either going to enjoy or not, this wont appeal to everyone but i enjoyed it and im on my third playthrough.

4.0 out of 5 stars Improvement on Series 7..., 21 Jun. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having been dissapointed by the lack of story progression in series 7 due to it all being filler episodes and reading that series 8 was all filler too i thought it may be chore to sit though another 26 episodes. Luckily this series is an improvent in story and action compared to the last series and,at times reminds you why, you started watching Naruto in the first place. with its trademark humour, good story telling and some good fights this series somehow manages to seem more relevent even though it does nothing to advance the main story at all. frustrating as it is not to see the main story advance i would still recomened it for your naruto collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hardcore fans only..., 11 Jun. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
i started watching naruto just a few months back and was complety hooked by the awesome story lines and action, even ordering 2 series at a time because it was so good....until now. dont get me wrong series 7 isnt awful but it is a shadow compared to series 1-6. instead of advancing the story it goes all filler with throw-a-way episodes that mean nothing to the original story whatsoever. the 26 episodes are spilt into mini stories ranging from fair to mediocre with the odd comedy episode chucked in for good measure. you could skip this series and you would have missed nothing at all, however its not a complete waste as it allows you to get into some of the lesser characters as it does delve a bit into thier backrounds. non-essential,but since its faily cheap now its ok for the price and to complete your collection.
