5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly relaxing, 6 Mar. 2006
This is the first relaxation CD I have tried, and I have to say it really works. i have tried a huge variety of relaxation techniques but listening to this music has really helped me.
This is not a music CD. Very natural sounds, of streams, quiet birds, a breeze, light rain and in the background almost chime-like sounds. It creates a very tranquil mood, and can be played in the background while doing something else or just listened to. There are two tracks, both of which are sampled above. Each lasts about half an hour.
I highly recommend this cd, it is definitely good value for money. Anyone who particularly likes nature or the idea of visiting a rainforest will particularly enjoy this cd. Very peaceful! Go and buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read, 5 Mar. 2006
Case histories follows private investigator Jackson through 3 unsolved case histories from the past. One missing child, one unsolved murder and a wife who murdered her husband. The results of each story are very surprising and not what you expect while reading the book. The story also delves deeper into Jacksons life. All the loose ends are tied up but still leaving something to the readers imagination.
The book is incredibly well written, not simplified in any way and doesn't state the obvious. Each character is very individual and not the standard stereotypes found in many novels. Suspense and mystery is built up very carefully and the ending still surprises.
An exciting mystery, with several funny moments too. Well worth reading and highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars A nother fantastic novel by Jodi Picoult!, 15 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Perfect Match (Hardcover)
I am a major fan of Jodi Picoult novels, and I am rapidly working my way through them. This one was certainly not a dissapointment!
The story follows a mother who finds out her son has been abused, so at some points the story is a little bit uncomfortable to read, but not over the top. As usual, there is a court case, which is incredibly gripping and reveals new twists on every page. The relationships between the various characters are all very believeable and honest. The book realy makes you feel for the characters and helps you to understand what they are going through. The author really knows what she is writing about.
A great story with a great ending.
Fantastically well written, gripping and full of twists, right up to the last page. Definitely highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great box set!, 3 Feb. 2006
If you are thinking of buying this set, you've probablly already seen the films and don't need me to tell you how great they are!
So the box set itself is more important, great value for money! Each film is in its own two-disc set, with lots of interesting and fun extras. Definitely worth buying!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting and relaxing watch., 3 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Wild Africa [DVD] (DVD)
The dvds are divided into 6 sections; mountains, savannah, desserts, coasts, jungle and lakes & rivers. Each one is an hour long programme. They all start with an introduction and explanation of the particular habitat and vies over the areas. The narrator is an irish man whose voice, settles quietly into the background. Several animals living in each habitat are covered, with interesting facts about them all. In each programme, 3 or 4 examples of each habitat are covered, giving a broad view of the African climate.
Very interesting watching and it has a very relaxed mood. Nice background music, beuatiful landscapes and animals, clever photography, and good narration make this dvd a worthwhile purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great introductory guide!, 3 Feb. 2006
I bought this book as I was interested in learning more about essential oils. It's a fantastic introduction and has sparked my enthusiasm.
It begins with short sections on ths history of humans and scent, how essential oils are made, and some other very helpful and interesting background information. Then there is a section that deals with massage techniques for the head, neck, back, shoulders, hands and feet (very helpful and easy to follow). Following this is a short section summarising oils by their main properties, making it easy to search for something to help a particular problem.
The main part of the book summarises over 50 essential oils, one by one, detailing their background, and how to use them and why they work.
Clear pictiures and just the right amount of informatin mean that this book is a very helpful introductory guide and is certainly not too overwhelming to tackle reading. Thouroughly recommended!

Each photograph is briefly described and the book is divided into areas of the world. Its a real mixture of photos, all very beautiful and interesting to look at. I was surprised by how large the book was, defintely great value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favourite Jodi Picoult book! Great!!!, 30 Jan. 2006
This review is from: Salem Falls (Paperback)
I have read many of Jodi Picoults other books and they are all fantastic but I particularly loved this one.
The book follows the story of Jack St Bride, previously a teacher who has been wrongfully convicted of sleeping with one of his pupils. It follows him trying to start a new life and love after prison untill inevitably things start to go wrong and an intriguing courtroom drama follows.
The lawyer as always has a relationship, and this book sees the return of Jordan McAfee, previously in the Pact. His relationship with his son and with his partner are both excellently written and enhance the story even more.
The main plots revolve around rape and witchcraft but the book also deals with themes such as the loss of a loved one.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend not reading it when you should be doing anything important or getting up in the morning! Its full of the unexpected twists found in all of Jodi's books. Its honest, believable and exciting to read.
It is incredibly well written and keeps you gripped from beginning to end. Definitely well worth reading! Leaves you feeling good!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but fast!, 25 Oct. 2005
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Pilates For Beginners [DVD] (DVD)
I have never tried pilates before so bought this dvd for an idea of what it was like. The Instructor is male and uses two people to show you the moves. The music is barely noticeable in the background so not offputting like in other exercise DVDs. I felt that the pace was a little quick for me and I found some of the instructions difficult to follow. However, I imagine that over time this would be easier. Pilates seems to be mostly composed of stretches, not advisabel for those with back problems.
Overall A good introdictory DVD, little bit fast but nice and gentle exercise programme.

Dragonfly [DVD] [2002] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC]
Dragonfly [DVD] [2002] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC]

4.0 out of 5 stars Good film, bit predictable., 17 Oct. 2005
This was one of your average unexpected twist films. It folllows Kevin Costner with his one and only facial expression of slight upset while he tries to find out what happened to his dead wife and whther or not her ghost is haunting him. Its a good story but the ending is predictable, nice though. So a good film, good entertainment but not one to watch if you want to be kept in great suspense and not thought provoking.
