1.0 out of 5 stars A horrible horrible book, 18 Aug. 2006
This has to be the worst of all O'reilly books that I have read. Its structure is poor and illogical. It jumps in way to quickly with large chunks of code. What makes this worse is that there are not always screen shots of the results of the code.

I would really discourage anyone from buying this book, most of the information is freely available online, and whats more is that its often more concise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny., 11 Sept. 2005
This review is from: Learning Java (Paperback)
If you wish to learn Java this is definitely the book for you. It is aimed at the java beginner or even people beginning programming. The book is very well laid out and the examples are clear and concise making them easy to understand.
This book doesn't leave my side whilst programming in Java and I highly recommend it to anyone learning Java, especially students on Comp Sci. degrees. This SHOULD be the recommended text.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius, 9 July 2005
This review is from: Poses (Audio CD)
Having heard Want One and Want Two first I was reluctant to listen to Rufus Wainwrights earlier work in the fear that it would taint my view that Rufus is definitely a special musician.
Poses is with no exception an outstanding album and each song possesses the distinct perfection of every track that I have heard.
If you have enjoyed any of Rufus' music you will undoubtedly enjoy Poses, listen out for 'Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk' and 'California'.
