MADE with STYLE!, 5 July 2002
'Made' being the follow up movie to the surprisingly successful 'Swingers', is a clever film set a few years into the future where; the very 'Money' Trent is now broke and Mikey is living with a stripper and boxing for cash while trying to look after her little girl who is much neglected by her mother.
After the speedy lines, understated deliveries and characterisations of Swingers I was expecting the same winning formula. Made catches you slightly off guard at the beginning because you're expecting the boys to be reeling off one-liners and getting girls to drop there kickers in a matter of minuets, however Mikey and Trent are so un-cool its painful. There are points in the first half of the film that so embarrassing that you won't know weather to laugh or cry.
Fans of Swingers will be pleased to hear that terms like 'MONEY' are frequently used which should keep the hard-core fans happy.
The plot takes Mikey and Trent (The stars) through the night clubs of New York looking for a British drug dealer called the 'Red Dragon' having been hired by a gangster from L.A. without saying too much 'Made' is definitely worth seeing with some great twists. A must see for fans of films with good dialogue, EXCELLENT!.
