The other releases have been playable in all zones but I see this one is zone A1. Does that mean it won't play in UK. Seems strange to release it this way.

This review is from: 300 - Rise of an Empire (DVD)
If you want to find fault with historical fact then don't watch this, but if you want to be entertained with a spectacular, bloody film, this is great. It may all be filmed in front of green screen and the actors don't see any real water, but the battle scenes at sea are just brilliant. Watch the "Making of" on the disc after watching the film and see just how clever green screen is. I loved this disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maybe not hilarious, but it is funny., 14 Dec. 2014
Despite some poor reviews, I really enjoyed this film. It's not hilarious, but it is funny. It's well filmed (nice to see a steady camera instead of the lazy handheld rubbish we have to put up with in most films now). Good music. Without spoiling the surprise, there is one classic, very clever joke about half way through that I thought was brilliant. Well worth a watch.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's time to go back to film school guys!, 18 Nov. 2014
This review is from: Earth to Echo (DVD)
This could have been so good. However, if you like watching 80 minutes of this now boring fad of handheld camera, waving about like a flag on the 4th July until you start to suffer from travel sickness, then you will love it. Otherwise, when will film makers realize that this exaggerated effect is boring, irritating and incredibly annoying. It's bad enough on a tv but even more so on a big screen. There are some good effects, the music is good and the film could have had some nice emotion, but it is all thrown away by the stupid camerawork. In the "making of" they say it is to give the impression you are in the film, not just watching it. Hey guys, we are just watching it, take note. Go back to film school, learn the art of proper film making. ET it ain't and doesn't come close. I have given it 1 star purely for the truck scene.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent documentary!!, 1 Nov. 2014

I have no interest in road racing whatsoever but will always give any film a chance. Rented this because of the excellent reviews and I'm glad I did. It is interesting, exciting and very very moving.

5.0 out of 5 stars but I really liked this film, 31 Oct. 2014
Didn't know what to expect as I hadn't read the book, but I really liked this film. It's unusual and it has a really good "making of" film on the disc as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Can't agree with everyone else because I hate exaggerated hand held camerawork, 16 Oct. 2014

Can't agree with everyone else because I hate exaggerated hand held camerawork. If you like your films looking like they've been made during an earthquake then you will love this. I didn't get involved with the characters because I was getting sick of bouncing around. When will film makers stop this stupid, irritating, lazy fad? It's distracting and annoying.

Beautiful film. Well acted and beautifully photographed. Just a shame about the very un-imaginative title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent film, 25 Mar. 2014
This review is from: Saving Mr. Banks (DVD)
Not one that I was looking forward to, but an absolutely brilliant film. Emma Thompson is superb, as is the rest of the cast. Tom Hanks and Colin Farrell great as well. It's funny and it's sad. Loved it! Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's not that bad, 22 Mar. 2014
This review is from: Ender's Game (DVD)
Everything about it is ok. The acting is good, the special effects are superb. There's a good twist at the end and then within minutes it's over. It felt rushed at the end, but in general I liked it although at times I felt like an adult watching a kids film.
