1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother, 23 Sept. 2013

Dreadful. This comprises three pages which amounts simply to a list of map references. The tiny map lacks any detail and would not help anyone. There are no pictures of sites, nothing at all. Cheap sounds good but this is still a waste of money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good plot and well-written, 3 Jan. 2012
This review is from: Mercy (Department Q 1) (Paperback)
This is a great read if you like a crime story with a tense and clever plot which is also well-written. All the central characters really lived and both atmosphere and place are vividly described. I loved the complexity of the story-line and the way the various strands come together as the time lines gradually converge. The humour gave the characters warmth and humanity, which provided a good contrast to the darker side of the story. I have recommended it to a friend and I will definitely read more Adler-Olsen in the future.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Third Man, 3 Jan. 2012
This is really very pedestrian, and like several other reviewers, I cannot understand why it has received so many positive reviews. The writing is clumpy and child-like. If it were not for a few gruesome aspects this could be a young teen read, although I wouldn't recommend the story-line either. The characters don't live and the plot is amateurish. I know it was cheap but I feel cheated. I may be cynical but are all the reviews genuine?

The reviews for this product are suspiciously positive. The product is badly produced; the reader is sitting too close to the mic and makes frequent little explosive sounds with his breath. He has clearly not read the text beforehand and stumbles over pronunciation, omits some words and doesn't pay sufficient heed to punctuation. This makes the audio painful to listen to. Not least, the content is nonsense cobbled together from goodness knows what sources; nothing is referenced. The language is laughably antiquated. Who says 'nay, indeed' or 'aye' nowadays? This is certainly a con. It is a powerpoint display, not a DVD
