5.0 out of 5 stars Vertabrae By Vertabrae has to be the peak of the album., 28 May 2007
This review is from: Volta: Extra Tracks (Audio CD)
My first thought on opening the cover of the album was "Wow" The artwork of the album is definatly eye-catching. Portraying mother-nature, the cover resembles a giant volcano floating in the sea, mixed with a tomato.

On listening to the album, i was pleased that she had not gone completely hip-hop and unserious. However i was also pleased that it had it fun moments and its lower-tempo, more serious moments.

The songs that stood out for me were Wanderlust, a huge soundscape of pounding beats and high base with a highly catchy melody, vertabrae by vertabrae, which portarys an emotion that I have never felt before. And declare independance which has to be amazing live, with its up-tempo furious beats and bjork screaming her political lyrics.

My juiviniak, I have to say, although being a great song has been left out abit. As if it has been bullied by declare independance, which sits next to it. With the quieter, low-tempo songs behind too scared to speak up and the louder, yet calmer wanderlust and earth intruders, who are mature and confident enough to not have anything to do with it.

Best song - Vertabrae By Vertabrae.

I love this album- it is so pretty- a complete masterpeice. Every song flows perfectly after the other. Do not judge this album until you've listened to it a few times.
