Another excellent album from this outstanding band. The production is more polished this time around and has a more commercial approach, but at the same time the band have taken some risks musically and boy do they work. There are instantly catchy anthems such as Scream, I Am The Fire and Amen and some familiar rocky numbers such as Sick Individual and Apocalyptic, Dear Daughter is a beautiful ballad, but the ending is totally unexpected and sounds like something off a Pink Floyd album!! There are a couple of tracks which are hard to catagorise, such as New Modern Love and Bad Girl's World, but are excellent nevertheless. But they live the best until last with I Like It Heavy, which starts as a get down and dirty bad ass rock song but ends up with Lizzy singing country acapella, I kid you not!! Bold and Brilliant, what a band

God I love this band, bought ' The Strange Case Of' and couldn't believe my ears, along with the Rival Sons they are beyond doubt the best band in the world today, the musicianship is superb and Lizzy Hale is an incredible talent, you want tough chick she will give it to you in abundance on tracks like, It's Not You, I Get Off, Dirty Work etc but at the same time can knock out ballads with ease Bet U Wish U Had Me Back and the excellent Familiar Taste Of Poison, what a band, what an album, can't wait to see them in Liverpool in August, Awesome !1

Good album, different from the first two albums with a more grungy feel, but still worth having, Doug Aldrich is on top form as usual.

5.0 out of 5 stars A ROCK CLASSIC!!, 3 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the best album I've ever heard, the band are awesome and Lizzy Hale is a revelation, on one hand she can be aggressive and raw, see tracks like Love Bites, Mz Hyde, I Miss The Misery, You Call Me A Bitch Like It's A Bad Thing etc then in the next breath sensitive and vulnerable on tracks like Beautiful With You, In Your Room and Break In, even the bonus tracks are excellent, especially Private Parts. Outstanding and Breath taking, have just ordered their other two albums, can't wait.

4.0 out of 5 stars good comeback, 13 Nov. 2013

This is a good solid comeback album, not their best but still showed that old Cov still had something left in the locker, some good rockers like Can you hear the wind blow, Call on me, All your love and Lay down your love are all typical Whitesnake but the stand outs are the slower tracks, All I want all I need, Summer rain and Till the end of time are superb and really enhance the album, unfortunately docked a star for some pretty ordinary rockers such as Best years, Got what you need and ironically the title track!! But the follow up Forevermore saw the band back in full flight and produced one of their best albums,

If this had Van Halen or Whitesnake on the sleeve this band would be selling multi platinum albums and filling rock stadiums, featuring the unbelievable vocals of Keith St John who can sound like Hagar/Coverdale or Plant and the amazing Doug Aldridge on guitar, this is a must for anyone that likes 80 s hard rock music, all three Burning Rain albums are highly recommended but this is my personal favourite, awesome.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent value for money and damn good albums, 11 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This was a snip at the price, two albums showing both sides of Dio, Magica is a superb concept album with Graig Goldy playing some great melodic stuff on guitar and fantastic lyrics and vocals from Ronnie, Killing the Dragon is the complete opposite , it's a straight ahead hard rock album with Whitesnakes Doug Aldrich playing some excellent metal riffs, highly recommended.
