4.0 out of 5 stars A really good read, 11 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great start and this lead me to read the whole set over several days.Virtual super hero, duplcate beings wanting to replace humanity, nano mechanics and worm holes.
A real treat and the end had a great twist. Not too keen on the godlike beings towards the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great mixture of fantasy and medieval style warfare, 23 Jun. 2014

I really enjoyed this 3 book set and read the whole set on holiday. Easy reading with plenty of action and a wide range of characters and locations. Similar in range of oponents to Game of Thrones but with magic and a heroine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pre Norman conquest foundation for an obvious series, 3 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Presented in a series of short stories set in the same time frame but building up to a general background of pre Norman conquest. A good mix of Saxon and Viking positions. Ready for the invasion in Part two. I liked the way in which the threads were carefully drawn together.

Very well written in a sort of backto front H.G.Wells with a romantic twist. Not what I expected but I enjoyed it.

4.0 out of 5 stars inter Stella war with unidentified aliens., 27 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Despite other review comments to the contrary I liked the technical background which made the book more believable in the sense that I could visualise the action. There is a good story base and I like the suspense about the nature and reasons for the alien aggression. Well crafted and original.

First contact between two vastly different cultures. Brilliantly written surface and space battles. A real page turner that is hard to put down.Samourai type honour mentality versus technology in an alien environment with humanity losing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Saxon /Viking Trilogy climax, 6 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
An excellent and slightly unexpected conclusion to a trilogy showing the conflict between the Saxons and Vikings from a womans point of view. Not the expected clash of battles but an interesting insight into the way in which the two cultures had similarities and ultimately the same end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible 4 dimensional plot, 4 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This series of books has an incredible plot covering different time lines, different "friendly" groups, two "god-like figures and opposing threats from a machine culture and a virus trying to eliminate all life. Wonderful but sometimes a little confusing with the same characters in different time lines on the same page.
