5.0 out of 5 stars I want to read more books by this guy..., 16 July 2013

I enjoyed reading this very much. Some people won't like the mix of first person and third person, but it didn't overly distract for me. The mix of past, present, police and SAS was definitely not boring! Quite a page turner, I didn't want to put it down. Likeable characters and good action. More please, Matt.

5.0 out of 5 stars A party you don't forget!, 9 Nov. 2012

This review is from: Desperation State (MP3 Download)
This is an album that grabs you instantly, with its vibrant energy and slick skill. Hard to define the style... It's like Madness and Ennio Morricone held a party and Elton John gatecrashed and everyone got deliciously drunk and had a kick-ass time. Or something. I don't know. I just like the variety of it, with Matthew Sellors super-talented vocals at ease in reggae or deep ballad, and I dare you to pick a favourite.
Yes Sir Boss admitted drafting in a couple more horns for the album, but I can assure you that Tom First and Jehan Abdel-Malak are more than capable of sustaining a wind section live that will blow your socks off. You could listen to this album just for Tom's trumpet.
I love what Josh Stopford brings to the album, with the incredible My My, a haunting song that Matthew shows off perfectly, and the subtle use of the ukulele on a couple of tracks that lends great depth and character.
This is a collection of songs that you makes you find yourself humming randomly later, wanting to dance at awkward moments. I guess that means it wins.
Thank you, Yes Sir Boss, for a class album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent British film!, 13 Jun. 2010
This review is from: SNUB [DVD] (DVD)
This was a really nice British horror film. They used the setting fantastically, the cinematography was good throughout. Effects for the post-nuclear landscape were nicely done. Great story, some nice performances, I really enjoyed it! And yes, I squealed a bit at the icky horror moments :) And no, I have no connection to Claire Spence, who played the sensible, heroic American ;)
Obviously not a Hollywood blockbuster, but it had tension, creep factor, a reasonable amount of blood, and a good deal of charm. And a badger joke. What more could you want?

5.0 out of 5 stars Listenable to again and again!, 14 Jan. 2008
When you need an audio CD for your young children in the car for that long journey, look no further. You'll be quite happy to enjoy it with them, believe me. The star-studded cast makes a superb job of the excellent dramatisation. Fry is a superlative Pooh, and Horrocks as Piglet is sublime. A great CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Lego!, 14 Jan. 2008
Spongebob may not be your cup of tea, but this Lego set is a lot of fun. Took a decent amount of time to build for our six-year-old daughter (only a little help needed but then it is for 7-12) and has lots of moving parts to provide hours of roleplay amusement and jellyfish throwing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ogam firmly in the 21st Century, 4 Jan. 2008
I read this book with a non-practising interest in Celtic Reconstruction (CR) paganism, but I am convinced that if you are looking for a guide to help you deepen or energise your CR paganism, or simply want to expand your knowledge of Ogam, then this is an excellent choice.

The author provides everything you need to begin a path that will enhance your study of this alphabet and it's modern use, especially in divination. Laurie presents the feda, in a comprehensive and well-researched manner, also including her own interpretations, and pre-empts every pitfall the student will find along the way to using them.

The whole book is written in a clear and wise way, with a depth of honesty and a touch of wit that makes it a pleasure to explore. The reader is left with a clear idea of both the challenge and reward involved in Ogam divination.

It is such a good guide you are left hoping that the author will write further guides exploring her experiences and knowledge around other related subjects such as feda in poetry, or in healing. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great book!, 4 Oct. 2006
This review is from: Robomum (Paperback)
My seven year old son read this book to me. There are a lot of wonderful layers to the story, about relationship and family and friends. There is also one moment in the book that was so hilarious, we were both in stitches of laughter for a few minutes, and that's a long time ;)A great book.
