1.0 out of 5 stars Where are the monsters, angels and demons?, 2 Jun. 2013
I have not played this game, but I read all the comics and watched the reviews.

Obviously all those who made positive reviews have never read the comics, or else, they would be howling their disappointment at having no real challenge, by which I mean

TITANS!!! (I can always dream about facing a titanic monster in a first person perspective...)

Lately, game designers have put all their attention on the ways to kill human beings and to avoid at all cost monsters to get more of the call of duty and battlefield addicts.

That is truly sad for adventurous gamers such as myself.

What do you think ?

5.0 out of 5 stars Best RPG gameplay ever made, 30 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought Dragon's Dogma before buying the expansion, and it is totally worth it.

Dark arisen made me hate paid game reviewers.

These guys are so used to ending their play when the credits roll that they have not realised that this is precisely the moment when the real fun begins in this particular game, and especially for the expansion.

The first playthrough in the isle is fairly easy.

You get to discover the most frightening evil NPC ever made: the incarnation of DEATH!

The second playthrough is so hard that I have not yet been able to complete it.

For those Dragon's Dogma fan's out there: you think that killing one dragon is easy?
You are completely right.
How about two dragon's at the same time? You think that this might be as easy?
How about two mage dragon's?
How about two mage dragon's, two minautors that do one hit kills along with three living armors plus the risk of DEATH coming into the fight PLUS additional epic bosses that appear after a while with a horrible sense of dread in the same open area?

Now, if you do not think that this is the new threshhold of hardcore, wait till you fight against the demon once again and see him in his awakened form make all your pawns vanish before your eyes and keep you from being able to use a liftstone to escape the battle!

PS: having a team of four sorcerers is ideal if you have the means to keep them alive.

Dark Arisen stays's true to the imperfections of its predecessor, meaning very few areas that are recycled shamelessely.
The replayability is in the calculated different monster appearances in these areas. Every encounter feels unique, and this expansion is full of awesome surprises.

If I compare this RPG to others, I will say this: it is the most fun to play in terms of gameplay and has more interesting quests than Skyrim and Diablo 3, but it is nothing compared to Two Worlds 2, Oblivion, Risen 2, diablo 1 and 2 which provide the best unique stories that you are likely to find.

Here, you have my advice if you are searching for RPG's with awesome stories.

1.0 out of 5 stars Message to Nintendo, 25 May 2013
Why was the nintendo ds a success and the wwii u a failure?
The reason is simple: the folks at nintendo thought that it was the dual screen that people liked.
They were wrong.
It was the fact that the nintendo ds has the same screen protection feature as the game boy advance sp.
Most times the simplest answer is the right one: this is the simplest one.
Nintendo was saved by the fact that the PS Vita did not have an integrated screen protector, nothing else.

Nintendo's policy was to make retro games.
However, with the wii u, they wanted more than the big share of the market that they thought they would keep.

However the problem of the wii u is not the graphics, it is the controller.
It is both too bulky and heavy, not meant for long play time because of a weak battery.

Only idiots could think that offering junk to people and say that it is tasty stuff would actually sell.

Nintendo, most people do not have more than two eyes, and these eyes are not that of a cameleon's.

Next time you bring a new console, make it simple, light not bulky, with a long battery life, and maybe you will regain your share of the market.

3.0 out of 5 stars Message for microsoft, 25 May 2013
Microsoft, I only bought the xbox 360 instead of a ps3 because most games looked better on the 360.
I have never paid for your xbox live gold, because I do not care about paying for an internet connection twice.
You have never shown any interest in making xbox exclusives: fable, gears of war, crackdown: Microsoft, you are not serious about creating a fan base.
Out of these few exclusives, only gears of war 2 was close to being a good game.

With the xbox one, you expect your previous customers to come back, to be willing to never share their games with their friends, to be unable to play games without an internet connection because your new machine is already retarded, to be spied upon every second, hour and day by your kinect 2 and I do not know what else.

Microsoft, I am telling you that anybody who will buy xbox one would do it to tear kinect 2 out of the console and make it useful. Then, they will throw the xbox one in the trashcan and recycle it.

If Sony becomes as consumer friendly as nintendo was, then you are finished.

PS: Do not expect me to buy windows 8. Microsoft, you are so intent on making money out of things that you should not own that up on your lonesome tower, you are not seing that your base is crumbling.

3.0 out of 5 stars PS Vita versus NVidea shield, 25 May 2013
I bought a PSP, and it is a blast.
Being able to put the image I wanted as the main screen was awesome, seeing images, watching videos, and some games were real gems: diablo, split second, dangan ronpa, silent hill, mind quiz, brain challenge...
What shocked me when I first tried to play PSvita games was the loading times. It felt like the vita was trying to play xbox 360 games, but was not quite there yet, thus the awful loading lenght.

Another portable console is going to be launched, coming from NVIDEA, and this time, I believe that loading won't be a problem.
This other portable may have no game support at all, but imagine what will happen when it will be able to emulate the game cube, ps2, nintendo 64, xbox and 360.
I believe that the PSvita hackers will decide to give up on the vita. Is that not what Sony wants?
I have come to believe that Sony is a provider of great entertainment, who provides more value for money than all of its competitors, and that it feels the need the need to protect its child, the psvita from certain hands, until the psvita reaches maturity.

There is nothing wrong with that. With the PS4 coming, sony wants to bond the psvita with its next gen console, which means a longer lifespan for the vita.

What I dislike about the PS4 that has not even come yet, is that according to some, it is does not have unified memory, in the sense that even though hardcore gamers will buy an 8 gigabyte ram machine, they will enjoy little more than half of it, simply because a minority of gamers would want instantaneous netflix or skype and fifteen minute recordings.

I wanted to believe in Sony, in the vision that it was showing us at E3, and I believe that they are the more diserving party for support by casual gamers who know nothing of technology, business, hacks and anything else.

For now, sony is the best choice for entertainment.

I just want Sony to give more choice to its consumers, instead of their unified fake vision of psplusvta4.
I want to be able to custumize settings on my console so that certain effects are disabled so that others work even better.
I hate achievement popouts that do not give any in game rewards, I want the option of removing it forever.
I want to be able to play games with the use of the full specs of the machine.
Will you ever do that again Sony?

5.0 out of 5 stars Too good to be safe for your mental health, 21 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Far Cry 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
Far Cry 3 is a dangerous game. It provides an awesome experience while promoting indoctrination: your one choice is to kill everything that moves, and it is a lot of fun.

Usually, I play first person shooters where I get to kill monsters, like Half life 1, lands of lore, gunman chronicles, portal, duke nukem, doom, morrowind...
I never have a guilt issue when I get to kill literal monsters that are a different species that wants to eat my virtual persona.

Some people enjoy Call of Duty, battlefield and other military shooters. A person I know says that these games are made to prepare the people for war.
Playing far cry 3 made me realize that to a great extent, he is right.

When killing a person virtually becomes more and more realistic and fun, there is no need to be surprised when in countries where guns are legal, fits of rage turn into bloodbaths: I am looking at you, United States of America.

In France, we have never had this kind of scandal, we never had any Halo player who died of exhaustion by rising from his chair after playing, and never has a kid who killed his parents from forbidding him to play Call of Duty, simply because in France, guns are hard to come by.

Getting back to Far cry 3, this game is a lot about knives. You see where I am going with this?

We cannot make knives illegal, and yet this game makes it immensely satisfying to backstab and frontstab and sidestab people.
PEOPLE! Not animals, only people.
The game specifically made stabbing animations only for killing humans, thus making it more pleasurable to kill human beings than animals.
This bothers me.

I do not regret purchasing this game, because it is an eye openner of the trends of the gaming industry, and it is a hell of a good game: Vaas is AWESOME!

PLease, I wish for reviews to change the gaming industry.
Replace humans with the most awesome and humongous monsters ever, and people will be focused on killing a nonexistent fantasy instead of fantasizing of destroying humanity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome combat, addictive class leveling, this is the birth of the first traditional role playing game, 11 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Dragon's Dogma is a mixed bag: it is not a big game in terms of size,
the areas are not stunningly beatiful, they feel ordinary, much like skyrim, but worse,
the monsters are a lot of fun, and the abilities that you can unlock are awesome.

A word of warning: the main quest has about one page of dialogue, the real side quests are scarce, and the downloadable quests are fetch quests (dog quests as I like to call them: at least in Skyrim, they were free). However, this game is vastly better than skyrim, because at least the main quest and the scarce few real side quests are actually interesting and truly involve the player: you will get to save the maiden, or man that you, the gamer, love.

This game really feels like a journey with pleasant opportunities to progress and get more experienced at killing various monsters.

I know that Dark Souls is the best role playing game so far, this one comes third (Oblivion is better).

I look forward to a sequel containing more vertical fighting, more real involoving quests, bigger and tougher monsters
and personality-based abilities might come as a nice addition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Borderlands 2= Lollypop of duty (not the real sequel to borderlands), 20 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
What have you done Gearbox Software?
Why did you only focus on the shortcomings of borderlands 1 without keeping what made this game great?
People did not complain about the real humor (even though it was scarce), they did not complain about giant monsters, they did not complain about the wild strangeness of Pandora. They did not complain about getting better at wielding a specific gun the more they used it.

Borderlands 2 screws all of that
-The main quest is a call of duty type of quest= take down a human tyrant.
The story is spoiled from the start: Pandora has been tamed by machines and bandits, leaving very little for humongous monsters.
The NPC's from Borderlands 1 are here, but they are not funny and borring as hell=ordinary: it would have been better to leave the former Vault hunters as legends, leaving the players the freedom to see their loved characters as they dreamed it.
Here you are forced to digest a scenario that is so predictable and unsurprising, so American really that you do not feel involved in the game.
There is a clear lack of originality and ambition.
Even the end shows that Borderlands 2 is not the real sequel, but rather a transition to another supposedly better sequel.
Baddass points replace gun experience: your characters do not feel unique anymore since they all share the same stats.
Relics have become commonplace, which means that the alien guardians of Borderlands 1 were not copypasted, unlike most of the other bandits and monsters.
I personally thought that seeking for a unique relic protected by unique aliens was super cool, but we get none of that in borderlands 2: these "angels" are only left as statues in the very last location of the end boss of Borderlands 2, and also in the Captain Scarlet DLC.

Thus your character may be called a vault hunter, but is in fact only a puny soldier.
Because the enemy is the CEO of the Hyperion corporation, respawning does not make any sense anymore, since its this guy who owns the facility that revives the characters constantly: this makes no sense, unlike in Dark Souls (the greatest RPG ever), were respawning affect both the character and the player in a similar way.

The abilities of the characters we get to play mean nothing: if you have three more levels than our enemies, they die easily, and if they have three more levels than you, they kill you.
This turns the Borderlands experience into a meaningless pointless errand.
It is hard to find rare loot, which means that once you find a good weapon, all the others are pointless for six to seven levels straight.
This means that the bazillion of weapons are mostly junk.

To correct the shortcomings of borderlands 2 would mean recreating borderlands 1, or borderlands 3 with a russian writer, or a really good international writer. Making a game that reflects the lack of creativity of American society is not interesting at all.

PS: The Leviathan boss fight Of the Captain Scarlet DLC is a ripoff of the boss fight ending of dead space 1: this is shameful. This game was only made for the money, it is just another call of duty, a milked franchise. Why is it not possible for producers to buy the most incredible stories rather than risking to pay a scenarist who will screw up (qualitatively speaking) every single sequel?

3.0 out of 5 stars Focus on the wrong places, 19 May 2012

Rage is a game using an engine called id tech 5, and it is probably the most stunningly beautiful game ever made for consoles. If Skyrim developers had used this engine, there would not have been any image tearing for Skyrim in the xbox.
In Rage, every talking character feels truly unique, and have the glow of a living breathing person in their eyes, making every single npc in skyrim look like nothing more than akward bits of code.
The artificial intelligence for the basic enemies is diverse and extremely stunning: they will surprise you a lot. Skyrim has only programmed enemies to give up when their health is low.
There are one or two real side quests. The others are only a pretence to reexplore areas of the game.
The races are too easy, and the story feels rushed, leading to one of the most anticlimatic endings ever.
It is obvious that there was more focus on the engine rather than in the actual game.
I really hope that id will not screw up doom 4, or worse, leave it to Bethesda.
Forget about special effects and focus on the story and the gameplay and make the bosses really entertaining, at least like in doom 3.
(The bigger the enemies are in Rage, the dumber they are.)

Portal 2 is a worthy sequel, bringing more open and varied puzzles in the single player.
The sad thing is that there is no artificial intelingence for the story in cooperation, which forces you to play with your friends, or else if you play in xboxlive with somebody you do not know, you risk getting diched within five minutes of playing. There is now a level editor for computers, but nothing seems to come for the consoles. If you are hoping for infinite maps, buy the game on the pc.
