After many traumatic years, the Queen of Country /Pop has returned in triumph. Her vocal quality has not been diminished at all.

This 16 track CD, with accompanying lyrics, all written by herself, includes 2 songs that have been played regularly on the radio, namely `Swingin` With My Eyes Closed` and `Life`s About To Get Good`. The remaining 14 tracks are a variety of uptempo and ballad styles. My personal favourites are `Home Now` and the somewhat poignant `Soldier`. As with her previous release possibly more of these songs will be released as singles.

The accompanying musicians are exceptional, and Shania even sings on the backing vocals. I am sure her fans will be pleased with her return and with this CD.

A 2 CD, 46 track compilation of recordings made between 1965 and 1977. These include, `Gentle On My Mind`, `By The Time I Get To Phoenix`, `Hey Little One`, `Dreams Of The Everyday Housewife`, `Wichita Lineman`, `Galveston`, `Honey Come Back`, `Everything A Man Could Ever Need`, `It`s Only Make Believe`, `Rhinestone Cowboy`, `Country Boy`, `Southern Nights and `Sunflower`. Also, there are a few `covers`, including `Without Her` and `Reason To Believe`. Added are songs like `Guess I`m Dumb`, written by Brian Wilson for the Beach Boys, but turned down then given to Glen Campbell, who has an amazing falsetto, by the way, then the endearing `London, I`m Coming To See You`. Two duets with Bobbie Gentry, `All I Have to Do Is Dream` and `Mornin`Glory` are also included.

In fact every track on these CD`s is well worth its inclusion. Along with the singing is some fabulous guitar accompaniment, which I am sure in most cases, if not all, was Glen himself. Glen Campbell, said he did not regard himself as a `Country Artist`, but as a singer of good songs that he could do justice to. Here he proves that point 100%. A worthwhile addition to any collection, in my opinion.

Glen, you have left us, but your music will live on. Goodnight.

Brothers Santo (b.1937) and Johnny (b.1941) Farina had their first success with the beautiful `Sleepwalk` in 1958. This ignited a worldwide success story that lasts until this day. In fact Fleetwood Mac wrote and recorded `Albatross`, inspired by `Sleepwalk`. This CD comprises the first two albums with 24 tracks.

The gems include the title track, of course, plus their follow up tracks `Caravan` and `Teardrop`. Familiar tunes, `Summertime`, `Blue Moon`, `Tenderly`, `Dream`, `Canadian Sunset`, a lovely version of `Harbor Lights`, `The Breeze And I`, `Venus`, `Deep Purple`, `Over The Rainbow` and `You Belong To Me` are given the full `works`. Then we have the Chuck Berry classic `School Days` (or No Particular Place To Go - same tune, different words), a very un-Santo and Johnny version of `Raunchy`, but good nevertheless. Pop stylings for `Alabamy Bound` and `Old Man River`, plus more samples of their own material. All of which evoke a mood of relaxation to the listener. If you like this CD then buy one entitled `Hawaii`, superb in every way (I have the original much played LP and the CD. Excellent value!!

This is a 15 track selection of music from films and or shows. Josh Groban has the capability of encapsulating the songs with exactly the right amount of emotion enabling you to have the best experience possible when listening to each track. One particular favourite of mine is `Bring Him Home` from `Les Miserables`.

Songs from `Charlie And The Chocolate Factory`, `A Chorus Line`, `The Phantom Of The Opera`, `The Wizard Of Oz`, `Finians Rainbow`, `Sweeney Todd`, `Carousel` (a powerful rendition of `You`ll Never Walk Alone`) and more... There is also one track in French `Les Temps Des Cathedrales` From `Notre-Dames De Paris`. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable selection, sung beautifully, which will enhance any collection.

22 tracks on 2 CD`s, including a 6-track festive CD, containing such delights as `Silent Night`, `Little Drummer Boy`, Ave Maria` and `Panis Angelicus. The main CD is worth 10 stars, let alone 5. Such tracks as `February Song`, the quite wonderful ``You Are Loved` (I urge you to watch it on youtube), `You Raise Me Up`, `Anthem` (for those patriots among us), `Weeping` accompanied by the Soweto Gospel Choir, `Smile` and `Hymne A L`Amour. The remainder are just as good but not so familiar to me, for the moment that is!

Josh Groban has a wonderful range in his voice, from baritone to falsetto. His annunciation is perfect, even the songs sung in Italian, French or Spanish are clearly audible. You may not understand the words, but you can hear them. If you like a good song sung well, here it is.

This collection of 12 tracks was recorded in 2012, with the 47 second track by Roger Miller, recorded as an intro to the following song. Once they were recorded they were shelved and it was not until recently that Mrs Campbell decided that it was now a good time to set them free. With the help of long-time friend, Carl Jackson, they were `renovated`, which included inputs by Willie Nelson, Vince Gill and three of the Campbell children. The liner notes give us comments written by CJ after each track. All the words are included too. As you would expect the quality is here by the bucketload. Yes the voice may not be as it was, but he was 77 at the time of recording.

As a bonus a second CD is included giving us another chance to hear some of his greatest hits. This collection shows us that the talent of Glen Campbell will never fade, nor should it ever be allowed to. Every recorded song sung throughout his long career, came from the heart, that is why his popularity with his fans never waned. His vocal ability seems now to be gone for good, but we have his music on record. Enjoy.

Sylvia Hutton, aka `Sylvia`, has been around for some time and her CD`s ooze quality. She writes or co-writes much of her material. This particular CD, with instrumental accompaniment in an old-timey, dare I say hill-billy manner. The songs are lyrically perfect, as always, even the one instrumental track is based on a tune, grandpa, Connie D Kirby, used to play at Barn Dances. The sleeve has a few photographs, showing her family history.

On the back of the sleeve, Sylvia writes ;- `The creation of this record has been an enlightening and joyful journey.` This is reflected in the performances of all those concerned. Once you listen to this you may want to listen to her earlier recordings, you will not be disappointed.

Remarkable maturity in her voice for one so young. With the exception of a few tracks which were big hits for herself, Helen Shapiro covers popular tracks of the day. 20 in all, which include songs made famous by Neil Sedaka, The Shirelles, James Darren, Jane Morgan, Elvis Presley, Frankie Lymon, Connie Francis, Bobby Darin, Cliff Richard and Brenda Lee (Helen was christened at the time of these recordings as Britain`s answer to Brenda Lee) amongst others.

After her `pop` success was over Helen traversed into the Jazz field, and hit the charts again with songs like `Fever`. Looking back, despite her obvious teen popularity, she was a girl with tremendous talent.

Brenda Mae Tarpley was born on 11 December 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia. She made her first public performance in 1949 in Conyers, Georgia and went on to appear in `The Steve Allen Show` and `The Perry Como Show`, amongst others. During her `pop` career, she netted 52 hit singles in America and 22 in Britain. She later turned to Country Music full-time and has been very successful and widely respected in this genre too.

This `Best Of` collection consists of 20 tracks, the best known being, `Sweet Nothin`s`, `I`m Sorry`, `Dum Dum`, `Fool Number One`, `Rockin` Around The Christmas Tree`, `All Alone Am I`,`As Usual`, `Let`s Jump The Broomstiick`, `Jambalaya`, `Speak To Me Pretty`, `Here Comes That Feeling`, `It Started All Over Again`, ` My Colouring Book`, `My Whole World Is Falling Down` and `Sweet Impossible You`. Also included is the song she recorded on 12 April 1957 (aged 12) ` Dynamite`, from which her nick-name , Little Miss Dynamite was born.

A thoroughly worthwhile collection to have. In some of the tracks her maturity, particularly in the heartfelt ballads is astonishing. Spoil Yourself, you won`t regret it!

Jim Reeves died in 1964, yet his music is still loved as much as it ever was. This CD is a compilation of 2 albums, `The Country Side Of Jim Reeves` and `Jim Reeves, Floyd Cramer , Chet Atkins in Suid-Afrika`

CD1 gives us familiar songs, including a pop-chart topper, `I Won`t Forget You`. The other 9 tracks are solid country, including `Yonder Comes A Sucker`, `When Two Worlds Collide` (NOT the duet with Deborah Allen) and `Waitin` For A Train`. On CD2 we have 12 tracks, 4 each of Jim, Floyd and Chet. All of the vocals are in Afrikaans, and at least three of them were released on other albums. The instrumental tracks are less familiar, with the exception of `Zambesi` by Floyd Cramer. All produced and performed to the highest standards we expect from them, now sadly no longer with us. Give it a try!
