Lower East Men's Le225 Raincoat, Black, X-Large
Price: £11.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent all round protection, 18 Aug. 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Thin raincoat that is perfect for summer. Fit perfectly, and doesn't get too hot whilst offering all round protection from wind a rain. There are ties for the waist and also the hood to stop the wind and it comes with a small bag to stuff it in when not in use - this takes us very little space and can be attached to a belt. Plain design, which I like.

My only fault would be that the waist tie has a habit of vanishing inside the coat and has to be coaxed out and the pockets are a little too shallow, which means my phone fell out a few times!

4.0 out of 5 stars Neat Solution, but pricey, 18 July 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is just a stand and doesn't come with a charger - you simply take your existing charger, fix it into the ring and wrap the cable inside the body. The ring can be flipped up so you can put the watch on the side. I quite liked this aspect, as it means I don't have the watch strewn across a surface and the cable stowage is very good when transporting the charger around.

It's a pretty neat solution, but somewhat overpriced for what it is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album from Tangerine Dream members, 15 July 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Synthwaves [VINYL] (Vinyl)
Apparently recorded just after Edgar Froese's death by the other two members of Tanger Dram, this is a superb album of bubbling electronic sounds that harks back to the analogue 1980s sound of TD and other synth artists. "Main Theme" sounds like something from a John Carpenter movie, with a layer of rhythms whilst, by contrast, Slow Life is a gorgeous and emotional track with piano and ambient sounds. If you love Tangerine Dream, then you should be thoroughly comfortable with this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money, 12 July 2017
I've bought a number of wireless headphones at budget prices, and generally got what I paid for: cumbersome, uncomfortable and cheap items that quickly found their way to the kids or the bin.

These were not a problem. For a start, they are quite a decent size and feel solid. There are small hooks (And a number of replacements of different sizes) plus different sized earplugs. I found the default set to be comfortable and they also stayed in my ears, unlike others I've bought. The small hooks were far better than the massive over ear monstrosities and they were pretty comfortable for extended listening.

I didn't have a problem with the sound quality - jazz and rock sounded fine, and not too dominant on the bass. I did get them for around 11 pounds, which is superb value for money. The packaging was good quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality, Highly responsive keyboard for typing, 12 July 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The first thing I noticed about this keyboard is that it's heavy. The large, chunky keys are raised on a solid plinth. I like peripherals like this to be heavy. What attracted me to this was the typing aspect, not gaming, as I don't play games. I do a lot of writing and have always struggled to find keyboards with an action I like. This one had no such problem. The keys are highly responsive, and I find it a pleasure to type on. The lighting is a bit of a gimmick, but I quite like it when I'm working in the dark. My only complaint is that it's quite noisy, which makes working in the living room a problem as I get moaned at by the wife and kids. It's also Mac Friendly, and came with a tool to pull keys off. I also like the retro style of the lettering.\

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent collection of tunes, 10 July 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Archive BBC recordings of a British 'Big Band' lead by Neil Ardley and featuring well known British players Don Rendell, Jon Hiseman, Ian Carr and many others. The first six tracks are big band treatments of work by external writers, including Jack Bruce, and Barbara Thompson, who was a member of the band. They are what you'd expect: a grand, big sound with plenty of soloing and a slightly cinematic feel. This does date it, but doesn't diminish the brilliant playing and endless interplay going on. It's all over too quickly.

The real gem (For me) is the final track, a musical piece based on a JB Ballard novel that uses electronics, a small ensemble of wind instruments and a small orchestra. As a fan of Ardley's later work, this shows him starting out in the direction. Atmospheric tunes and swirling combine dramatically. This tune is different to the big band sound of the other tracks and doesn't feature any drums. I found it a perfect ending to an excellent collection of tunes.

5.0 out of 5 stars High quality cable, 2 July 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
High quality cable with sturdy casing around the connection and a nice long length. Most of the cheap ones I buy end up being too short, but this was perfect for connecting an Xbox to a TV hung up on the wall. Nice packaging as well - a sealable bag. I can't honestly tell if this gives any different picture than the Pound shop ones, but it's certainly better made and longer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Strap, but not as sleek as the official Apple sport strap, 14 Jun. 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This strap has a similar feel to the standard Apple watch strap, and comes in at the same price. The back of the strap is grey and ridged, to allow sweat to escape, the holes are rectangular and there's a peg and a clasp. It's not as sleek looking at the Apple strap, mainly due to the clasp, and I found it a little fiddly to get on and off. Apart from those quibbles, it's comfortable to wear and the rest of the strap looks good, although I am not keen on the grey back and the way it outlines the holes ion grey.

Packaging was good, which adds to the overall high quality feel of the strap, but it's not as good as the standard Apple sports strap and quite expensive.

Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM Bluetooth Speaker Waterproof with Double-Up Connection - Fireball Red
Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM Bluetooth Speaker Waterproof with Double-Up Connection - Fireball Red
Price: £84.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound and a unique design., 12 Jun. 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
First up, the design is quite interesting and colourful. There are two large shaped buttons for volume on the side of the substantial barrel-shaped speaker. There's also a useful (And strong) hoop for hanging the speaker off something. Pairing was a doddle - long press the button on the top and wait for a booming noise to get it into pairing mode. There's an LED indicator to help you, if you actually need any help.

Sound is impressive and clear, especially when compared to cheaper bluetooth speakers which were tinny. Definitely big enough to fill a room (Or garden) with sound. Vocals were clear as were most instruments. Bass was a bit weak, but that didn't bother me, and there was no shrillness at the high end. I couldn't really tell much difference between this and the small speakers on my HiFi, and could easily listen for a long time without tiring of the sound.

Pretty impressive. It's a bit expensive, but I'd say it's worth it for the sound quality, the waterproof aspect and the overall high quality design.

Blitzed: Drugs in Nazi Germany
Blitzed: Drugs in Nazi Germany
by Norman Ohler
Edition: Hardcover

3.0 out of 5 stars Over the top account of German drug use., 25 May 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Written at breakneck speed, this book feels as if it was written by someone who'd taken the stimulants mentioned. Which apparently fuelled the invasion of France and the terror of the Nazis, and the civilian population as well. It was all a drugged up knees up. It's hugely entertaining and well written, but needs to be taken with a pinch of salt - there may be a grain of truth here, but it's extrapolated too far.
