3.0 out of 5 stars kind of pointless tie-in, 2 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
here is an interesting addition to the LeapFrog electronic gizmo collection. Looking and fitting like a watch around your child's wrist, the unit has a variety of simple 10 second physical challenges which award experience points which are linked to cute animal avatars. There is a primary tamagochi like pet mode which you select name and colours for, feed, pet, water and do a few other things.
I get the feeling the real purpose of this thing is as an activity tracker to link in with the Leapster Pad tablets. Most of the additonal functions on it are designed for use with a tablet or LeapPad.
All in all< while my 6 year old enjoys the activities that this thing offers, it has very limited use and appeal.

4.0 out of 5 stars neat little kit, 2 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I needed a new emergency jump starter and saw the write up for this one. Small, compact and easy to use this is a great little mains powered charger and jump starter. With a choice of two battery connectors and a simple selection choice on the main unit the instruction menu is really an optional extra.
Fitting neatly into any small space or tool bag, this really should be a must for anyone with a motorcycle or car.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invisible Touch & Strong, 24 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
In contrast to my review for Durex's XL (12 pack), there is very little I can pick fault with in these condoms. They do exactly what it says on the box - they are quite possibly the thinnest condoms I've ever used, but that doesn't mean they are weak...hell, no. My wife and I decided to try these out to the limit. You barely notice it's there and it feels great, although if you are of the larger persuasion like me it only comes about 2/3's down your shaft. We even tried them for a bit of back-door action and were very surprised by how well they coped with us pounding away. The only fault I found was that the thinness makes them very slightly harder than normal to roll down to start with - a careful, level rolling is required to prevent it getting crooked.
To sum up - you want a condom that you will hardly notice and won't quit in a hurry, these are the ones for you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the bigger member, But..., 24 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
'These sound like just the thing' says the wife, so we tried them and found some surprises from these condoms. Firstly - they actually fit!!! I've struggled for along time to find a condom that come more than half was down my shaft. But it would also seem that with extra length comes extra thickness. These are quite a lot thicker than a wide range of other regular condoms.
This has a couple of downsides - the biggest of which is how noticeable it is around your member. It reminds me very much of the old fashion re-usable condoms from yesteryear. The second downside is only a downside if like me a session with your partner goes on for more than 40 minutes and she's just praying for you to stop and get off...yes, the extra thickness does dramatically decrease sensitivity and I was going at it for just over an hour - our longest session yet.
For those of you with a kinky side, you'll be glad to know that these are great for a bit of back-door action as long as you grip it well on withdrawal.
All in all, the extra comfort of the bigger size is great, but not when there are regular size in bigger quantities for cheaper prices.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kind of pointless additions, 22 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is the 3rd electric toothbrush from this range I've had over the last 10 years, and in all honesty this one has the most pointless additions to it of all of them.
The brush itself is the same standard shape and model as all the other Oral-B electric toothbrushes I've used. It comes pre-packed with the same 3 basic heads on the same stand/head storage unit.
As with previous models, it doesn't come with a standard mains adapter (it is fitted with a shaver two pin adapter) so you'd better have or get a shaver-to-mains adapter.
The brush storage box is slightly better, this time being made of an smoked plastic that is slightly better constructed than some of it's predecessors. But as before the brush will pretty much live on the charger as the battery seems to take all day to charge and you only get a few full uses before the battery gives up.

The real additions to this one is the all-singing-all-dancing bluetooth (ha-ha...wonder if they spotted that pun) functionality for both smartphone and bathroom display unit.
My Blackberry is apparently woefully inadequate to use the app so I haven't been able to test the functionality of that, but the bathroom display is a little wireless (AA battery powered...and it came with two very nice Duracell batteries for the job) clock and brushing method monitor. The smiley face with the quadrants surrounding it acts as a brushing monitor. The smiley face will become a sad face if you are applying too much pressure, while the quadrants of the circle act as a timer guide for how long to brush each part of your mouth. At the end of the cycle you are treated to a primary school style star rating on the effectiveness of your brushing.
In all honesty - I've had enough of these gimmicks and went very quickly back to my manual brush and only use the display as a handy bathroom clock.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old fashion cuddly goodness, 22 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
There isn't a lot to say that isn't in the description for this adorable and soft kid's toy. But there are a few points that I feel should be made if you are anything like me when it comes to new toys.
1)IT'S SO FLUFFY!!! yes, I went there...the whole thing is a lovely soft, fluffy felt. the underside of each segment is weighted like a beany baby. There is no plastic bits sticking out anywhere.
2)No noises - yup, you heard right, this is a baby toy that doesn't make any noise at all!!! this is for me a refreshing change from all the noise making textured toys or electronic "so-called" musical toys that seem to dominate the market.

all in all this is a cute toy that doesn't offend the ears or eyes.

Politics and the English Language (Penguin Modern Classics)
Politics and the English Language (Penguin Modern Classics)
by George Orwell
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Short little Gem, 24 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
While being very well versed in the books of Orwell, I had not before come across this famous essay which I was only aware of in the form of a few quotes.
Some of Orwell's comment on the use of language are scary when you then compare to the so-called popular literature and printed materials of today especially when you consider now how long ago this was written.

A wonderful piece of social commentary worthy of at least one read through.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Outing for underused extras, 24 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Those of you familiar with the Doctor Who Christmas special "The Snowmen" will know the characters who take the centre stage in this Who expansion which leaves the 11th Doctor out so that these characters who have been wasted in the show, can shine on their own.
Dan Starky (Strax) performs all the characters - including Strax, this on screen counterpart - with such finesse (and by the sounds of things - fun) that you will be totally submerged into this expanded universe story that you'll end up feeling disappointed that this wasn't made into a full TV story of which this Justin Richard penned tale is worthy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Performance from Frazer, 24 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Ever since the BBC have given pretty much all their Doctor Who audio production over to Big Finish the quality has gone through the roof!!!
This second installment of the 50th anniversary audio book series is a wonder second doctor period story. Read by the amazing Frazer Hines (who does a great job of resurrecting Patrick Troughton's Doctor) this feels like it could have been a novelisation of a period TV who story.
You will be completely lost in the story and wish you could have more more MORE!!!!
