4.0 out of 5 stars Stops arguments at christmas!, 29 Dec. 2004
Much to the disbelief of most of my family, my 5yr old nephew had a PS2 for Christmas. If you can't beat them and all that, an eye-toy was the perfect uncle type present for him (and the family it turns out!).
Controller based games are not very good for a 5yr old due to the speed and complexity of the moves required. So just as he's getting cheesed off with not ever winning at FIFA 2005, out comes the little eye-toy. He loves it! The games are much easier for him to use as he's jumping about with his whole body, my 8yr old neice is getting jealous, so she has a go and doesn't stop giggling! Their parents have stopped bickering and are now waiting in turn to have a go. The whole family including the grandparents are now transfixed on this little camera, all wanting to make complete and utter fools of themsleves! I would recommend this to people of any age/sex. I've never seen a game involve so many different types of people.
Thank you eye-toy for making Christmas Day a less stressful time, that was until we realised no-one was looking after the Turkey!
P.S. Make sure no-one has a camera - especially after a few beers! Gave it 4stars as the games aren't as good as Eye-Toy Play 1

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply astounding, 29 Dec. 2004
Just been given the Ixus 40 and Bytestor 1gb high speed SD card for Christmas. Simply wonderful combination.
Only down point to whole thing is there's no case in the box, but this seems to be the norm with all makes these days - I'd prefer the money to be spent on the insides anyway.
Quality of pictures is quite amazing considering the size and price (my Nikon D70 takes better pictures - but I need a rucksack to carry that one! - hence wanting one of these for evey day shots).
Movies are brilliant, always thought they were a gimick on compact cameras, but with a high capacity/high speed card you'll amaze anyone who watches them afterwards.
The most amazing thing is the speed of it, takes less than a second to power up ready for a picture. Continuous shooting is faster than my D70. In fact, anyone want to buy a second hand Nikon D70? It's just been made redundant by a camera 1/4 of the price and 1/8 the size!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ixus 40 runs at full speed with one of these babies!, 29 Dec. 2004
Had a Canon Ixus 40 and one of these cards for Christmas. Wanted a high speed card to take full advantage of the power of the Ixus. Disappointed I was not, it runs like a dream - freshly formatted the camera can see 972mb of space, that's approx 490 shots at the very best resolution/730 shots one step down. You can shoot movies for as long as you have space on the card (around 8mins total). This is all thanks to the 66x speed. I wouldn't buy another brand, there's no point with the performance soooo good and the price just makes you smug!
