1.0 out of 5 stars Missing the point by a clear 10 miles!!!, 25 Sept. 2010
There are so many people who loved this remake but being a die hard fan of the original I just couldn't and i didn't feel a bit guilty either.
rob Zombie took a perfect horror film recipe and screwed it up by explaining too much and diluting all that made michael myers the greatest stalk and slash icon ever.
we want the mystery of the blank mask to scare the hell out of us because it's got no motive and there is something so scary about not knowing and letting your own imagination go wild.
well not with this one it spends about an hours laying it's cards on the table in a very clumsy way. if you want a good scare buy the original it's a classic for a reason.
P.S- please mr.zombie stop putting your wife in the films she's really not that good. it's verging on madonna+guy with Swept away.thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars gore by the people who made it!, 13 Oct. 2009
This review is from: Going To Pieces [2006] [DVD] (DVD)
being a huge fan of horror films, I've always been on the look out for a feature length docu-DVD because it's been so long since a horror 101 type tv show had lived up to expectations. But this dvd you get to hear sean.s cunningham talk about the making and the first screening of friday the 13th. John Carpenter talks about the process and first screening of Halloween. you hear from big horror producers too, and this release also contains previously banned footage that has just seen the light of day.
In the extras there are movie quizes to test your slasher movie knowledge too.
plus wes craven tells you the story behind the classic nightmere on elm street and it's pretty spooky.
so take a look for yourself you won't be disappointed.
