5.0 out of 5 stars Inovation- amazing, 20 Feb. 2009
This review is from: Intimacy (Audio CD)
This album personifies why i love music, constantly pushing the boundarys, constantly evolving. Yes its not silent alarm, but why is that a bad thing? If you love Silent alarm so much just put it on repeat and listen to nothing else. And now a few tracks i love:

Zephyrus is a truly amazing song mainly made of layered vocals and wonderful electronic drums. Signs is also different using a clever combination of glockenspiel riffs and electronic drums, for a strange kind of ballard. Trojan Horse is a fast paced rock inspired with guitar riffs but effect heavy with synths kicking around in the background.

The lyrics are still very reconisible as silent alarm style. Every song is brilliant and refreshingly different. If you prefer your boring standard rock bands get the killers new album, and stop moaning that it isn't silent alarm. Its better in my oppinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Damn good game but....., 12 Sept. 2007
well, most people loved morowind. i however did not. i found the combat sytem incredibly pointless which made the entire game bad necause it is based on combat. not so with oblivion. it is now more tactical than the annoying point and click system of morrowind. if you've ever played dark messiah you will notice how similar the combat systems are and i love the dark messiah combat (except you don't get to kick stuff). the security and sneak systems are brilliant; you can now be a proper thief unlike in morowind where sneaking was about as useful as a dead donkey.
the guilds are back and the quest are enjoyablle (especially the assasins guild quests, i mean killing someone by dropping a moose head on them is priceless). however it is easy to complete the guilds as they are not nearlly as long and arduos as in morowind and not nearly as rewarding.
this is all built on the wonderful leveling up and skill stystem that made morowind famous.
not that leveling up helps. the one large floor in the game and the reason i could never be bothered to complete the main quests. i mean why are your enemies auto leveled to your level? i spend an age making a level 18 character where a friend of mine just finishes it on first level. though leveling up makes the game harder and more fun, so its liveable with but it would be much better if it was like morowind in that respect.
overall i think its way better than morowind inn most respects it will give you hours of play for virtually no money. i mean 60 hours play ain't bad for your money eh?

3.0 out of 5 stars pretty good but not great, 14 Mar. 2007
When this came out I thought wow this will be cool. This is because FFX was very good, the story line was interesting and the game play superb. If you are expecting this to like FFX, you will be dissappointed. I find the story line lacks the complexity, depth and emotion the other FF games have. Also, though people probably disaggree with me, I found the dressphere grid rather annoying due to the fact that I do not like any of the other classes except the ones you start with. Also, i think the side quests, draw you away from the story making it less focused. Overall, it is still a good game and worth buying if you are a fan of FF and want to see what occurs in the squel, but it is not a game for those who think it'll be a good game by the look of it. If you want a good game buy FFX not this one.
