This review is from: The Dance of Love (Kindle Edition)
The Dance of Love, an historical novel set in the late nineteenth century and running into the early twentieth century and the First World War, is an engaging and believable love story in which honour and the mores of the day play a significant part. The author has clearly researched the period well and the incidental references to the activities and manners of that period greatly contribute to the believability of the plot. The twists and turns of the plot are convincing and I felt an increasing sympathy with the main characters as the book progressed. I really enjoyed reading The Dance of Love.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delicious book!, 3 Jun. 2014

This is a terrific book, written with wit and warmth. Caroline Taggart writes about food evocatively - don't read this book on an empty tummy! -but is also very good on creating a sense of place and gives us fascinating nuggets of information about the many places she visits in the course of her quest for special, local cakes. It is a hugely enjoyable read, part recipe book, part travelogue and I loved it!
