The writing style is not great. It would have been better for him to work with a co-writer as Mick Fleetwood did on his recent book, which is significantly better than this.

Great read. Should be recommended reading for any parent with a wayward teenager - it all comes right in the end. Tip - if like me and you don't possess any music by the Slits or Viv as a solo artist don't be tempted to look on YouTube.

This review is from: The Debt To Pleasure (Paperback)
Saw Alexander Armstrong on a book review programme say that this was his favourite book. I ordered it straight away.

Well I've learned one thing, don't take book recommendations from AA as this book is utter tripe and I'm sure John Lanchester could tell you how to cook it. Didn't make any sense from beginning to end. Pointless as AA often says.

Heaven And Hell: My Life In The Eagles, 1974-2001
Heaven And Hell: My Life In The Eagles, 1974-2001
by Don Felder
Edition: Paperback
Price: £12.08

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Great Book!, 11 Nov. 2013

Best book I've read this year. Heard about this book through an old Word podcast and decided to buy it after seeing the excellent Eagles documentary on BBC in which Frey and Henley come across as vindictive bulleys. Felders dilemma is not unique to the music industry ie you work with people and you thing everyone is being treated equally then you realise that some are being treated more equally than the others. What do you do? Bite your tongue and accept whats coming your way or stand up to be counted. Felder chose the latter. He's a multi-millionaire but still coming to terms with not being an Eagle anymore. Whatever music you're into you will love this book.

I have a few Levy straps so bought this one to add to the collection when I bought a new guitar. It is different to my other straps as the strap fabric has a "knitted" quality which is not obvious from the photograph.

Did I mention this book was dull? It is very dull and very long winded. A great cure for insomnia.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, 11 Oct. 2013

I was really looking forward to reading this book but it was a rather dull and disappointing read. These are my suggestions to Mr Jones 1. check the footage of Live Aid I think you will find there was a big event in the US which gets little coverage in your book. 2. check your facts, to the best of my knowledge John Ottway has never played with Daryl Hall, though it would be interesting! 3. leave the writing of these kind of books to Stuart Maconie 4. don't mention your association with David Cameron.

Bringing It All Back Home
Bringing It All Back Home
by Ian Clayton
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.99

4.0 out of 5 stars It's not written by Robert Wyatt!, 9 Feb. 2013

Ian Clayton was a regular face on television in the Yorkshire area for many years. His style of broadcasting was always homely with a great bear hug of enthusiasm for everything he reported on. The book follows in that same style with an analysis of his love for American music and how his world has occasionally collided with some of his heros.
