1.0 out of 5 stars Sounds like a Del-Boy character - hard to take seriously, 22 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Lose Weight Now (Audio CD)
Probably just me as Glenn Harrold is best selling, but it feels like something knocked up in Only Fools and Horses and his contrived style sounds like one of those characters too .

Tip, Glenn has a site on YouTube ( I found this out too late) , listen to the samples on there and decide if his style is for you .

I have used a Paul McKenna CD for a different purpose and will probably order the Weight Loss from that series.

2.0 out of 5 stars Loud buzzing from the power adaptor ruins great speakers, 8 Feb. 2010
Bought a pair of these speakers from Amazon last week, set them up and they sounded great. Problem started about 45 minutes later, the power supply started buzzing and could be heard in the next room, ruins quiet moments in the music or the time between music. The buzzing would only stop when the power adaptor was switched off for another 45 minutes. Therefore of no practical use. Returning the whole package to Amazon today. I also note another reviewer has complained of buzzing, so it it unlikely to be a one off.

5.0 out of 5 stars simple and reliable to use and very good value, 28 May 2009
Three people in this house using rechargable and single use batteries in about a dozen different items, (and leaving batteries all over the place), this allows quick and easy testing and it is a simple pleasure to know the next set of batteries you use are fully charged.

1.0 out of 5 stars Has-beens playing Fleetwood Mac, 22 Feb. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My wife and I appear to be out of step with the other reviewers here, this is a lame attempt at recreating the old Fleetwood Mac ( who we love). Stevie Nicks fails to hit or hold the note on several tracks, Christine McVie's Songbird is desperate, the male vocals are even worse - the drinks and high life have taken their toll on their musical soul and vocal chords.

There is no colour or life in the show, for the most part they appear bored and apart from Mick Fleetwood do not break a sweat, Christine McVie looks like she is giving a presentation about toilet rolls.

Pull out Rumours instead, this was once a truly great band with life and excitement , but not at this show. As a big fan , I was very disappointed indeed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for light use - I agree, 26 Oct. 2008
I agree with the review that it is great for light use and is strictly for home use. It definitely will clog up with more the one sheet of paper or with a piece of card or a photograph. If you have hundreds of bits of paper to do then burn them in the garden or take them to work. If you feel resistance when shredding then stop and reverse as the mechanism is lightweight. If a staple has got stuck then use a fine pair of tweezers. There are a couple of very fiddly little cog wheels in the mechanism so it is best not to take it apart unless it is a last resort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing and surreal with strong characters, 20 Nov. 2006
I was first attracted to the advert in a newspaper for this movie when I saw the picture of St Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park where I had been visiting the previous year ( another five star rating as one of the USA's dramatic but one of the least visited National Parks by the way), then I saw Tommy Lee Jones was the director and guessed an excellent story was in the making. My girlfriend and I were not disappointed in any way. The plot is surreal and unfolds gradually and cleverly. If all you normally like are blockbuster Hollywood movies, then this film is not for you; but if you like the unravelling styles of Memento , Dogville or Road to Perdition and enjoy a real top notch tale then you will be warmly satisfied with The Three Burials.

Panasonic DMR-ES20DEBS DVD RAM Disc Recorder
Panasonic DMR-ES20DEBS DVD RAM Disc Recorder

4.0 out of 5 stars Good bit of kit though RAM discs fragile and some flaws, 8 April 2006
Very good quality recording and plenty of inputs for other devices but some programming flaws.
If you press the eject button an hold it slightly too long the door won't shut again without switching off the entire machine.
If you have timed something in and say come home early and decide you do not want it or notice you are on the wrong channel you cannot interrupt the recording if recording has already started.
RAM discs surface are more fragile than -R or -RW, one fingerprint or the tiniest of scuffs and the recording freezes and jumps, if you go for the RAM discs choose the ones in the cassette so you cannot mark them, the extra expense is worth it to keep the excellent flexibility that RAM discs offer.
If you are recording on a disc other than RAM then you cannot even watch the freeview programme you are recording (not as silly as it sounds, I was recording a programme for a friend but personally wanted to watch it as it was broadcast - this might be nitpicking though)
