Thankfully I bought this book at a knock-down price, otherwise I'd have been very disappointed. The mistakes spoil what should have been a fascinating story. The most glaring has the author stating that 'Tommy' cost £23 when released in 1969 - then probably a weekly wage for many! He also states that 'Tommy' had to compete with the following albums when released in May 1968: The Kinks 'Village Green', Small Faces 'Ogdens Nut Gone Flake', & Pretty Things 'SF Sorrow'. True, all of these were indeed released in 1968 - EXCEPT 'Tommy', which wasn't released until May 1969!
Which album is the book supposed to be about again?
