Not as good as no 1, 31 Oct. 2012
I really loved "Rivers of London" - the first book in the series. Great mix of the detailed life of London, great historical stuff, and personally I loved the dry humour and the mix of magical and pedestrian. But Moon over Soho - not so much. I was a bit bored at times and found the plot rather slow and plodding. Not as vibrant, not as full of bright new ideas - a little tired and uninspired, in fact. Still readable, and better than most fantasy being written out there at present. I'm guessing I'm going to be buying no.3 as well just cause I'm hooked into the overall storyarch and main personae.
But hey - I'm warning you Ben Aaronovitch - no3. better be good or you've lost yourself an avid reader!
