Safari Adventures in Southern Tanzania
Safari Adventures in Southern Tanzania

2.0 out of 5 stars Better books around, 30 April 2015

Turgid stuff, I gave up reading this book in the end. A classic case of keen safari travellers who thought the rest of the world would be interested in their adventures, the problem is that if there were any adventures the author has failed to excite the reader with their writing style.

Give this one a miss, there are other authors who offer more with their offerings. Try The Wilderness Family, by Kobie Kruger.

Sorry, Safari Adventures not for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read., 1 Mar. 2015

For anyone interested in the bush this is an excellent read. The family's accounts go from the amusing, to tension filled problems, to heart wrenching situations. I have spent my whole life around animals (domesticated) and I understand emotions of the issues that surround the family, but I just cannot imagine the feelings that run through the mind when having a male lion running amok in the household. I would love to know what Kobus and Kobie felt when your daughter takes a dog and a lion for a walk in the depths of the Kruger National Park, what trust they must have had in the ability of their daughter , but also the rather ''useless'' lion, just fantastic. There are other books regarding the bush that are a great read, but this book is the best by far.

Poorly written book with minimal content of substance, basically a bunch of magazine articles wrapped up and called a book. I suspect the author had some spare time between game drives and decided to write a book. There are better options out there if you are interested in the life of a game ranger try Peter Allison, he wrote two entertainment books.

Good crisp story, just a shame it was a short story.

Not for me, struggled to finish this book, it seems to me the author has retired and thought he would write a couple of books in his spare time. Maybe he should try another pastime? I am sure the author was a good teacher.

Not much of a story, I suppose the author should have listtened to what his father told him ''if you can't find anything to do become a teacher'' and that sums up the book really, it is mundane. I have tried a number of times to complete the book, but sadly it is now on the shelf.

3.0 out of 5 stars too expensive, 10 Aug. 2014

Jacket arrived as promised in time for my birthday gift. The jacket has limited pockets which is disappointing. There is too much velcro on the jacket, all the way up the front over the long zip, I am sure the defence would be that this would be described as storm cover, but the jacket is too light weight for such a comment. However, the jacket fits and the colour is fine, it just misses for me, too expensive for the quality.

I have worn these wellingtons 5 times since I bought them just to walk the dog, well they are unstable to walk on and they leaked during the 5th walk. This product is simply not fit for purpose and should be avoided at all cost. There are plenty of other options, more expensive, but cheaper in the long run.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice belt, 18 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Nothing wrong with the belt, a nice product, but I ordered two belts large size, the belts duly came on time, but although both belts had a large tag on them, they were a different size! on further inspection one belt was stamped 32-36 inches and the other 36-39 inches. Now one would have thought that before despatch someone would have checked. I have had no problem with the returns system, but its the hassle factor which could have been avoided. One of the main reasons I use internet shopping systems is because I live 9 miles from the nearest post office, so it is more than a nuisance for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars The truth, 30 April 2013

This is a first rate description of what went wrong with the Bank of Scotland, you can add all the other banks as well. This was a race to the top or bottom depending on how you review the end result. People who had no banking experience running banks against all historical ethics which built the banks into the force they once were. The term ''boring banks'' was used by members of the press, this in turn drove the directors of the banks to their ludicrous aim of trying to be the biggest, well they succeeded, the biggest failures in corporate history. I do not understand why some of the directors were not prosecuted, especially when you hear their comments to the select committees. Perman demonstrates how the mistakes were made and compounded, this is a really good book, I found it difficult to put down.
