The Best Door Frame Chin Up Bar in the World
For close to a decade now I have searched for, purchased and tested multiple door frame chin up bars in my search for the promised land. After many years of looking I thought I had found the best door frame chin up bar, until I found the GoFit Unisex Elevated Chin Up Station.I had to replace my previous P90X style bar due to wear and tear and I nearly purchased another of the same until on something like page 4 of the Amazon search results I came across the GoFit.It is so obviously better than all the rest, just by looking at the design.Of course it makes more sense to have the front 'handle' bar raised. There is one other known 'raised' bar on the market but the front bar is thin, straight and has no foam grips so doesn't beat the P90X style bar.I can't believe the other manufacturers have missed it and we punters have had to suffer through low chin up bar madness. The proof then was going to be in the actual use.It is very solid and very easy to put together; easier than previous bars.As a result of the raised handle bar is it so much easier for me to use (I am 6'1")I am able to extend my legs much further, rather than having to curl them underneath me to obtain full range of arm movement. In addition, the hooks for hanging straps to allow knee and leg raise ab workouts work perfectly.I purchased a pair of hanging straps which fit easily through the hooks and allow the most intense and focused ab exercises i have ever known. In summary, if you are reading this and thinking of purchasing a door frame chin up bar look no further than this.Yes its a few pounds more expensive than others but this is a product you will use for years so the extra pounds become irrelevant compared to the massive benefits of using the best piece of kit available. One final note of praise, the rear has three points to attach meaning you have choice of how high you want your bard to go; genius!!Just so you don't think this is a completely one sided review I would prefer it in black instead of bright red but this matters not when you get to your final chin up of the set and you need to lie down and have a little cry. Hope this review helps!

Ordered Sunday evening, arrived Tuesday. Very fast delivery.
Minor glitch - one bolt missing. Found replacement bolt in garage so no big issue.
Was using a standard door pull up bar till I got this. The extra height is so much better and easier to use as you don't have to bend legs as much. Very sturdy and excellent bar compared to previous one.
Would have given it 5 stars but for the missing bolt.

Service was good, product arrived on time.Seems a sturdy piece of kit, takes my weight well.Wouldnt use it for push ups though as described on box cuase of the nuts an bolts used, as I have laminate flooring an throught they would ruin the floor. My reason for buying though is for pull ups an so far feels really good for that.Your door can't afford to be any wider than 31"opening , an wall including door frame 5"or 6" thick.Mine is 7" so I have screwed a piece of wood on the top of the door frame instead of metal clip provided to hold the plastic bracket in place an stop risk of slipping under use.I will say it works well with this modification and my flat is very old with thick walls all round. One dodgy nut, but I always have plenty of nuts bolts screws an nails for flat pack stuff, just in case, so no biggy.

Great piece of kit. I'm 14 stone and this carries my weight with no problems. For use on standard size doorways; any wider and you might struggle. Delivery was prompt, with no issues regards packaging, what's inside, etc. Highly recommended

No sight of product long after the date of which the seller advised the delivery will be, no advise from the seller on reason of delay and no tracking method provided by the seller whatsoever.

After repeated chase, finally arrived but a few of the tube-end plastic cap was broken and no fastener sets were provided for assemble it up (need total of 8 bolt and nuts sets of different size to put it together!) Have to go to B & Q to buy all fastener sets needed to assemble it. I can return it but just couldn't be bothered after such a strenuous long procedure and I suspect that the seller knew it as well hence, they bet on whatever they do, not everyone will take the trouble to return it. Very bad service, no way I can buy from this seller again!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job at a good price.
Reviewed in Canada on 20 February 2021
I was a bit nervous after reading negative reviews, but all the parts were there, all the holes lined up exactly, and assembly was simple, except that the provided spanners are rather flimsy. I used a shifting spanner on one side instead.
The unit functions as it should, and I have since added the Coreslings straps and handles that clip on to the device’s rings.
It’s what I needed while COVID restrictions keep us in an apartment with the gym closed.
Note that it’s not extendable and wouldn’t fit a wider than standard doorway, and I’m not sure how it would stand up to a person over 100 kg. I’m 78 kg and the main bar bends a little with my full weight on it.

Very happy with this purchase. Bar is sturdy and rigid when in place. So good to have the options for different hand placements and the design means you are not restricted but the doorway.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best door pullup bar I've used
Reviewed in the United States on 25 February 2012
    POSITIVES:
This pullup bar is exactly what you want if you have a low door frame height, or are taller. The second, elevated bar, adds about 9" of height compared to standard door frame bars. The top bar ends up about 4" higher than the bottom of the door frame.

Sturdy enough to handle kipping. I occasionally do kipping pullups and the bar has no problem with this dynamic type of movement, although I'm not as aggressive as I would be on a solid fixed bar.

    NEGATIVES:
This is typical of all inexpensive pullup bars, but the station feels a bit flimsy when assembled and installed. While secure, the bar has a bit of side to side wobble or shake, due to the bolts used, and the construction. I've used this bar multiple times a week for about 6 months, and it is still just as solid as when I bought it. Coming from a single piece construction pullup bar, the bar movement was troubling to me at first.

The bars will mark the doorframe slightly when they make contact. In my previous apartment, slight red marks were evident where the bars made contact with the door frame. In my current installation, the black door frame pads have left Quarter sized marks on the door frame that will have to be repainted.
    ----------------
    6 Month Update:
I've used this pullup bar multiple times per week for the past six months. It has held up great despite using it for strict and kipping pullups, and hanging gymnastic rings from the bars. I checked the bolts and they haven't loosened. Based on the performance so far, I expect to get many more years out of this product.
    ----------------
    12 Month Update:
The bar is still working great but I've begun to wear through the left hand foam grip pad. There is a large hole and I am mostly gripping bare metal now. I've used the product for 2-3 workouts per week for 1 year. So far I have been able to rotate the grip around and use the underside but it is only a matter of time until it wears away completely.
