With the sweeper standing with the handle straight up, the total height to the top of the handle is around 42 inches, I'm only 5'1" so it's hard to estimate whether it would be a problem for someone taller than myself, but perhaps knowing the height of the handle from the floor will help.

I assume you mean timber floors? :-) I personally don't know, as the sweeper was for my Dad and it's mainly used on carpet, but he does use it on the kitchen vinyl too. The price is reasonable, so it's up to you if you want to try it out? Hope that helps? Kind regards, Rachel.

It seems to work both ways. It works on carpets and hard floors very well.

I don't know I don't have any birds.it works fairly well on other stuff though.for the price it is ok.
