The Golden Section by Mr.Foxx Original realease 1983, Still sounds fresh and imaginative today.Tracks such as YOUR DRESS a song about how people change by the clothes they wear,The beatles-esq SITTING AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD and with the inclusion of the brilliant, almost Gospely A KIND OF WAVE (first time on CD). Shows a slight change of direction for John Foxx on this Album. Its great to hear creative song structures on all his albums (even the bizzare ones)which much of todays music is seriously lacking.

John was never really a top 40 star in the 80s and has remained underground ever since. This is possibly the pinnacle of his achievements and even mixes Beatle type harmony with electronica. From the opener "My Wild Love" , "Someone" and "Your Dress" to the excellent "Endlessly" and the ghostly "Twilight's Last Gleaming" this is an excellent piece of work which was overlooked in the early/mid 80s. The bonus track "A Kind of Wave" is worth the price alone.

I can still remember how addictive this album was when I first bought it all those years ago. Something about Mike Howlett's and Zeus B Held's marvellous production, getting the best out of John's inventiveness. There's a lot of love in this record, and it's great that "A Kind of Wave" has finally made it onto CD, since it rounds the whole project off beautifully. My only sorrow is that the original version of "Endlessly" is still not available.

A pretty awful record, riddled with kitschy lyrics and musical cliches. One or two of the tracks are catching in a late Roxy Music-ish sort of way, in particular, `Your Dress`, for which the lp recieves 1 star.

Alas even the album art, normally excellent with Foxx, is dire.
