Hi TC

Alessilover (Mrs D) here, am too thankful for Pundit for the invite, haven't seen any of the other names beforehand so 'hello to everyone'. Thank goodness those 'Troll's have gone well hopefully.

I did notice that lots of my 0 out 1 on every new item have gone (thought it was some glitch but no for real). So I really did have a real life one, as many others seem to have had to from reading the forum.

Silly question but can all vine people see these discussions?

Hi Mrs D, hi Tom, yes so far this has been like a breath of fresh air compared to you-know-where, let's hope it stays that way!

I was also wondering whether this forum is open to all or just top 1000 reviewers. I never saw this forum before a couple of days ago but I'm not sure if that's because I only moved into the top 1000 a couple of days ago when the new system came in, or because it's a new forum - all four active threads are from the last couple of days - or both.

I'm in the 2000s but I can see it. I think anybody can see it if they look at the bottom of the Reviewer Summary page.

I think forums are a bit of a letdown on Amazon. They are nearly impossible to navigate for a start. You never really feel like you are at home, if you know what I mean. Or perhaps that just me...

I didn't even know this was here until two days ago - I wish someone had told me!

I didn't know anything about it either.... is this new?

Posted on 12 Mar 2010, 10:04:20 GMT
I can see you and I've not done any reviews yet.

Howdo all.

Thanks to Jack for the heads up. Looks like it's open to all which is nice. I notice it has a handy e-mail notification feature too. Should be an interesting alternative to the Vine forum. We'll see.

This might smack of teaching granny to suck eggs, but here's how I instantly access this forum:-

I use Firefox, in this case for the purpose of its option of tabbed bookmarks
I go to the URL address, i.e. http://www.amazon.co.uk/tag/top%20reviewers/forum
Select 'Bookmarks' and click on 'Bookmark this page'
From the drop-down menu for Folders, choose Bookmarks Toolbar
Then, when that appears in your toolbar, edit it (right-click, choose Properties) and shorten it to New Forum or something simple like that.

And it's done. Now, you can find this forum with just one click.

Apologies for this being painfully obvious, I'm just trying to help. And I know some other browsers offer tabbed toolbars, but I'm just familiar with Firefox, even though I regularly use Safari and Opera too for other purposes

I found it by accident - just by looking at the bottom of the page when I was looking at the top 10 reviewers. I've only recently started looking at other forums (fora?) Let's hope it stays friendly!

This is an open forum so anybody who looks for it can join in and/or read all the content.

I'm from Vine in the U.S. Our forum there tends to get hijacked by certain profiles also. I usually just lurk because comments that aren't liked by someone can result in negative votes. At least that's the way it used to work. Since Amazon has worked all the bugs out of the newest vote system that isn't a problem any more. Amazon does police our Vine Forum and removes comments and entire threads. Do you guys not have that?

Entire threads have been removed from the Vine forum, not often but it has happened.

You may be able to find it on http://vine.amazon.co.uk but it may be dependent on your id.

Mr P---this is really interesting. One day last week "Tom Cat" showed up on the US Vine Forum leaving the scintilating message of "Boo". It was on a sticky from the Vine Admin Team. Never have seen a post from him there before. Of course I don't read every single comment posted on the Vine Forum. As I said, really interesting.

J. Lesley says:
Mr P---when the Vine Administration Team leaves an official message on the Vine Forum they make it into a "sticky" note which stays at the top of the list of Vine topics for discussion. It almost always contains information regarding a rule, the interpretation of Vine policy, a request for specific behavior, that kind of thing. Word from an official source so pay attention. They can stay posted there for however long the Admin Team wants to leave them up.

So far, no luck with getting you into Vine USA, even with the tremendous influence I have. Something about your name seems to stop emails in their tracks. Wonder why?
