Beverley Barton writes good thrillers and at least some of hers are on Kindle.
Kathy Reichs is another good author.
Michael Connelly - Harry Bosch novels
Jo Nesbo - Harry Hole novels
Lee Childs - Jack Reacher novels

All of the above are available on Kindle, I've no idea how much any of them cost however.

Then why do it?

Exactly - why force yourself to do what you hate to do? In addition - against the rules?

Anyway - I did read the sample. On the plus side - the book is perfectly readable, and that's a rarity among self-published books (at least those I've tried). On the minus side - everything seems to be heard too many times before, nothing very individual about the voice and a very slow start.

I suspect it's not a bad book. Just... average. Sorry. And self-promotion is still to be moved to Meet Our Authors

Because as a first-time author it's important to try to connect with people on a personal basis. Didn't know about the rules, sorry.

If I may: if you added the link to your book ON YOUR PROFILE, that might help - if you said anything unrelated on any forum, whoever clicked on your name would see your book.

Re rules: just read the Important Announcement from Amazon at the head of the forum.

As I said before your book is really readable, so it's well possible some people *will* like it. Good luck

I've just finished 'From the Storm' by Adrian Walker. Very good intertwining of three stories, set in Alps and Laos. A shallow young man 'finds himself' in the darkest way and an assassin finds himself hunted instead of the hunter. Really good.

Orlando aka David Ireland. Time after time - authors push their own books under a false identity. From your description "Casimir Greenfield" is a non de plume.

"Maybe one day Greenfield will be prepared to blow the lid on the true id, but for now, we'll accept the name as part of the mystery."

How about we do it now. If we check out his website : http://casimirgreenfield.com/bio.htm

we get a link to the shop he is a partner in. Guess what the names of the partners are Sandra, Tony and Dave Ireland. Now that's what I call a coincidence.

You are perhaps the third avid reader avidly reading and reviewing just one book. A single self-published book for every avid reader - isn't this a fascinating idea?

The world really is an interesting place

Are you the "Victory" aka Richard Maer connected to Sharon Maer the illustrator of RJ Grants children's books?

Well, I suppose you would say that about your own book wouldn't you Mark. Surprised you published it without finishing it though!!
