Adam Haines says:
Hi all, I want to purchase some video editing software an an Xmas gift for my brother and I was after some advice.

He is a novice when it comes to this so I was after some software which is easy to use and perhaps comes with a helpful manual which would simply explain how to utilise the features available to him. I am also looking for something fairly inexpensive.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Best wishes, Adam

Well the king is definitely Sony Vegas (very expensive though) but I can thoroughly reccomend Serif Movieplus X3, easy to use, plenty of features and from my experience and most importantly stable. I think it can be purchased from Serif's website for around £20.

I have Roxio Creator 2010 but it lacks in creating slideshows that it cannot include video clips. I am considering purchasing Roxio Creator 2010 Pro. Will this version solve that problem and allow me to include some video shots in a slideshow?

You can create slideshows in 'Advanced Video Editing' and combine with stills. The slideshow creation wizard is designed to be simple to use; I always use the video editor to create mine which allows you to add some very nice effects and transitions.

I can't understand why Adobe doesn't do something about it's Adobe Premiere 8 digital video software when it gets such terrible reviews. It's customer service gets a hammering to. Any ideas anyone?
