Can someone tell me if it is possible to just download the WORD facility as I do not want Excel, Powerpoint, etc, etc.

I have a small notebook with very little space and just require a facility to be able to write documents ....................other than that just check emails and search the web.

I have Mircrosoft Office Home and Student 2007 but it is too large and I do not need all the facilities only WORD.

Can someone advise please?

You can, but it retails on the Microsoft website for £119. Shopping around will bring the price down.
If you have access to the net Microsoft have just started a free web based office application. You'll require a hotmail account but it is free. There are also numerous other free web based office type programs. But at least with the Microsoft version you can trust it ,you are familiar with the layout and everybody will be able to read the damn thing if you e-mail it.
Hope it helps.

Although my edition is the Enterprise version of Microsoft Office I would anticipate that your edition will also have the option of doing a custom install during the installation process. If so then you can deselect the applications that you don't require and only install Word without going to any further expense.

Good luck - D Craig

I have just bought the officeMac for home use I have tired to upload onto my new IMac but after 32 minutes it stops. I then tried to download from the MIrcrosoft web site but again it would not complete the download. Can anyone suggest a solution. This is my first IMac so all is new to me.

Download Openoffice - its free and does all the things word can do and more...
It can also read and save word files.

Other than that you can get old copies of msoffice 97 for about £5-10 on ebay!
For the basics its all you need!
