can second the recommendation for J.R Wards blackdagger brotherhood series. Start with the first book Dark Lover: Number 1 in series (Black Dagger Brotherhood). The first few books are amazing.... she then starts to write slightly differently with the later books but I personally still like them.

Another favourite of mine is the Cat and Bones series by Jeaniene Frost. Love these books. Start off with Halfway to the Grave: A Night Huntress Novel. Bones is my favourite vampire ever! The other vamps in the book though are great and there are some fantastic one liners in these books.

If you like a bit of humour in your books then Lynsay Sands Argenau series and Kerrelyn Sparks might suit. They are fun vampire books.

Also another good vampire series is The midnight series by Lara Adrian. Starts off very similar to J.R Wards books but they come into their own and there are some fantastic stories there.

Hope this is of help. As you can tell I like my Vampire books!

Have you tried Tina Folsom The Scanguards series?

Yeah agree with the Black Dagger Brotherhood, I really didnt think I was going to like them but im hooked. They need to be read in order and start out as Vampire romance as the series goes on it diversifies from that and I know some people have an issue with it but personally I think they are getting better and better.

Also enjoyed the Scott G Mariani ones, Christopher Buechelers II am trilogy and the Claire Farrell Ava Delaney ones

I also like the Soul Savers series from Kirstie Cook, a bit different but im pretty hooked.

Connie Suttle books are really good, Blood Destiny series

The vampire academy series is brilliant. They're about to start making them into a film. The black dagger brotherhood books are great too although they're kind of expensive on kindle. Might be worth trying to get them in paperback. I wasn't so keen on the Morganville Vampires series or the Southern Vampire mysteries. Laurell K Hamilton does a really long series that has vampires in it - the Anita Blake series. By book 5 its more erotica than fiction but they're pretty good. I'll have a look at my book shelves. I've probably got every vampire book known to man lol.

Blood Wager (Blood Destiny #1) love this series great characters and a great price on kindle. don't be put off by the cover illustration
it really doesn't do it justice and i probably would of overlooked it had it not been recommended as a great read by a friend

Connie Suttle's Blood Destiny series got worse with every book - gave up on #4. They also got increasingly more expensive to buy for kindle. I wouldn't recommend them - sexist, misogynist drivel.

just started a new book by Sloan Archer - Montgomery Vampires. It looks promising. I will update you when I finish.

I forgot Karen Chance - hers have vampires in although they're not traditional vampire books. PC and Kristin Cast do a vampire series as well. Think it's called house of night, but I'm not sure. I'm going from my book catalogue rather than looking at my shelves (yes I am that sad lol). The Gardella Vampire Chronicles by Colleen Gleason are okay. They kind of have a steampunk feel to them. I agree with the recommendations for the Night Huntress (Cat and Bones) series by Jeaniene Frost. They're really good. If I think of any more I'll post again.

Oh, I totally have one for you! by Scarlet Black. It's like 50 Shades meets Interview with the Vampire. Full of heart, romance, tasteful erotica, a tormented hero and the woman who loves him and has no idea he's a vampire!
