Hi everyone,

Can anybody recommend any good books with student/teacher relationships?

I've read Gabriel's inferno & rapture and preservation. I've got a kiss remembered and good student on my wish list but I'm struggling to find anymore that look like they're any good. If anybody could suggest something I'd really appreciate it! :) x

I remember that somebody asked for this a few years back. There were a number of Japanese books and little else, as student/teacher relationships are frowned on as unethical in the UK and some other countries and the teacher can be fired if found out.

Karen Robards book, One Summer, features a teacher and ex-student. Good book.

Then there's:
Descending Surfacing - Catherine Chisnall
Laying the Ghosts - Catherine Thornton

There's a book called You Deserve Nothing that's about a student / teacher relationship. Can't remember the author though! I bought the paperback a couple of months ago and it was quite a good read.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll check some of those books out.

D.NICOLL - I know it was so beautifully written! I loved it all the more when I realized Sylvain Reynard was a man! x

Water Lily

(I think it's the second book by this author, and perhaps not the best one, I mention it only because of teacher/student relationship. I'd suggest to check out her other books, though)

Anita - thanks for the suggestion!

D.NICOLL - So did I, I was tempted to re-read it straight away I loved it that much, but I opted for something else instead. I don't know if you're aware but he brought out a sequel to Gabriel's Inferno just under two weeks ago. It's not available on amazon uk as a paperback yet but you can get it for kindle x

Notes on a Scandal is very good. I know of a teacher who married an ex student and now has his baby, the relationship did not start until after he had left the 6Th form but I still think there's something odd about it without really knowing why.

I've ordered taming the beast, the reviews made it sound like a good read.
Think I might give a season of eden a try too after looking at it, thanks for the suggestions Miss Reynolds :) x

Hey are you, like, looking for books about it because its, like, kinky to read about students getting off with teachers or are you, like a teacher who has unwanted attentions from a student or even, like, a student who fancies a teach and wants some advice LoL! when I was at school i fell in love with my teacher, she was, like in her late twenties and she had lovely strawberry blond hair like sissy spacek but not with the stange face and googly eyes. anyway I was, what, musta been, like, 11 and I was soooo in love with her. anyway i looked on friends reunited the other day cos i thought as she's a few years older than me she might wanna go on a date-if she remembers me of course, and im single at tho mo since the wife left me for my boss. so i found her on the teacher section and OH MY GOD she was so old and crusty i thought sod that!

i was drinking when i read your comment, and nearly spat diet coke all over my laptop screen from laughing, thanks for that! lol.
i'm not a teacher trying to find tips or an outlet for my lust for students haha, sorry to disappoint!
i just find the genre appealing because of the secrecy element and the fact that it's frowned upon, it gives it that element of danger from getting caught, sort of like reading books about cheating? but from the stuff i've read so far the teachers/professors tend to have the overprotective and possessive element that i enjoy from the hero-type figure, if that makes sense?!
well, how old are you now? surely you can't have expected her to stay good looking all this time, we all age remember? :p
but sorry to hear about your wife leaving you for your boss, that's gotta be pretty harsh! x

A customer says:
so lidsaybabe, what other books have you read in this, perhaps, "different" genre?
Ok, so, like, you're clearly interested in me because I'm now single and once had a crush on my teacher LoL. Well as an expert at reading body language I reckon as you mentioned you was drinking diet coke you're letting me know you are, perhaps, somewhat curvy..well good news baby, I LIKE curves!

Funniest thread for ages, keep it coming please!

I'm not able to help with the books you're after but I'm in the middle of Gabriel's Rapture (Gabriel's Inferno Series) so get where you're coming from Lindaybeth. Great story!

Hi everyone,

Can anybody recommend any good books with Amazon forum-developed relationships?

I've read Gay Brian's 50 Shades of Forum and Off-topic Love. What I really want is a book about two total strangers, one a diet coke swigging hottie with curves, and another, an enthusiastic, painfully handsome childrens entertainer who's an expert at body language who meet on a forum and have a saucy, kinky, steamy relationship across the forum boards right under everyone's noses. If anybody could suggest something I'd really appreciate it! :) x

I too snorted tea all over my keyboard with laughter at this thread. Brilliant! Victor the Voyeur, if I have time I will write you such a book. It's a perfect recipe for a romance novel. Two strangers, humour, romance, code words to fly the relationship under the radar...genius!

I too am laughing to myself at this thread! I wish there was a 'like' button for each of the comments.
I can imagine everyone trying to come up with a novel about forum developed relationships, it will make a fantastic read and probably sell like hot cakes!
Keep the thread going guys, you've made my day!
