Leftin says:
Thin Lizzy
Shades of a Blue Orphanage
Vagabonds of the Western World
Funky Junction Play a Tribute to Deep Purple *
Nightlife
Fighting
Jailbreak
Johnny the Fox
Bad Reputation
Live and Dangerous
Black Rose
Chinatown
Renegade
Thunder & Lightning
Life

* - All three of the Bell line-up are there, ergo it's a Lizzy album!

(NB: Live albums are omitted, mainly because Live & Dangerous would simply win hands down, and Life would get panned thumbs down.)

NB (updated): Live & Dangerous (hence to be aka The Yeatman Album) and Life are now included. The unreleased Gorham/Sykes/Aldridge demos are not yet released, so we can't judge 'em.

Brass Neck says:
That's just plain daft, if there's an album that's head & shoulders above the rest and truly inconic then let's test the assumption out. Should we have left out Revolver because it was always odds on to win the Beatles vote? The Purple vote rightly included Made In Japan, the Little Feat Waiting For Columbus, both with a strong chance of winning. What's interesting will be the margin of victory.

My vote goes to Live & Dangerous if you relent and include it, if not then I abstain!

I must've fallen asleep at the back of class, M.Y. Thought Made in Japan WASN'T included! Ah well, we know which UFO album is going to sail to the top when we get to their "oeuvre"...

Anyway, as you ask so nicely and politely (cough)...

Leftin says:
Lazy? You mean 'too thick to paste', in fact!

Thin Lizzy
Shades...
Vagabonds...
Funky Junction... 1
Nightlife 1
Fighting
Jailbreak 1
Johnny...
Bad Rep.
The Yeatman Album 1
Black Rose 1
Chinatown
Renegade
Thunder...
Life

And a quick note to defend the Snowy albums. Chinatown (the track) is possibly the best Lizzy number, and Renegade is unfairly slammed.

Now you're going to tell me I've screwed up my own voting system! But you invented it, so... :)

Brass Neck says:
Did you really type all that lot again (& abbreviate most in the process)? Just go to a previous post and put the cursor at the beginning, then left click & hold mouse or pad while scrolling to end of list so it's all highlighted. Then do control & c simultaneously to copy, then open a new post and do control & v to paste - easy peasy;

Thin Lizzy
Shades of a Blue Orphanage
Vagabonds of the Western World
Funky Junction Play a Tribute to Deep Purple *
Nightlife
Fighting
Jailbreak
Johnny the Fox
Bad Reputation
Live & Dangerous - 1
Black Rose - 1
Chinatown
Renegade
Thunder & Lightning
Life

However the bad news is that you appear to have voted for three different albums so I'm ruling them out of order on your thread!! Maybe you're just an iconoclast? Here's an opportunity to practice copying & pasting, this time with just the ONE VOTE!! ;¬)

"Easy peasy!" You're talking (writing) to a computer-retard here. I tried as directed, and failed.

Got to be Funky Junction, as it was first album I bought.

Jailbreak is most consistent album of original songs, even though I prefer Moore and White as guitarists.

(Did manage the Highlight part, but Control and 'c' together do sod all! Anyway, I can't afford your CLAIT fees a week before payday. :)

Brass Neck says:
Control & c don't APPEAR to do anything because the highlighted stuff has just gone into the 'puter's memory. Did you progress to the next step of control & V to paste? If you had, there before your goggling 'puter-illiterate eyes would appear the very same stuff you had copied (but didn't know it!). Give it a go, I got Collette that far t'other day and she ain't Bill Gates!! Anyhoo after TheWoe;

Thin Lizzy
Shades of a Blue Orphanage
Vagabonds of the Western World

Nightlife - 1
Fighting
Jailbreak
Johnny the Fox
Bad Reputation
Live & Dangerous - 1

It's an honest vote but a futile one since no bugger else has heard of Funky Junction Play a Tribute to Deep Purple (I copied & pasted that bit!!). Yes, yes I'm sure you'd quite like to copy & paste ME (happily foregoing the copy bit?!!)

T. Franklin says:
Weirdly enough I had heard of said album which got a mention on these boards a while ago, but the cover also appears in the booklet with the superb Vagabonds remaster as it forms (a very minor) part of the story. As for the Lizzy oeuvre I'll admit to not being familiar with all of it but for the moment it's a toss up between Vagabonds (which is a great record), Jailbreak, Johnny and Rose for me. The others aren't slouches though. I'll vote for Vagabonds cos no one else has...

Brass Neck says:
It seems wierd they made so relatively few albums and that what most folk would call the really good stuff is concentrated into about 5 years between Jailbreak and Black Rose (not I admit currently reflected in the voting ... you weird buggers!). Don't suppose it helps if one of your twin lead guitarists is a bevvied up Glegae narcissistic heedcase who keeps walking out/incapacitating himself and your frontman/chief writer descends into the bowels of heroin addiction and ends up penning sub Iron Maiden stuff like Killer on The Loose. Saw them on three tours at Sheffield City Hall and yer man himself sweated on me at one gig, I was so close to the front - I haven't washed since but hey what's 35 years of BO against washing away PL's sebacious glandular out-pourings?!!

Live and Dangerous, literally a best of up to that point, gets it from me. I liked Live/Life, despite the cracks showing in Phils voice, as it had a great version of The Sun Goes Down on it.

Best studio album, Bad Reputation, but I've used my vote already.

R. Pini says:
My vote goes to 'Jailbreak' - purely for sentimental reasons. The problems with Lizzy albums is they all had fillers in some measure, the only consistently great album from one end to the other is 'Live and Dangerous' . Debatable of course! I also like 'Nightlife' and 'Chinatown' a lot.
