Hi Lez,

Don't know if I'll be able to make it but will try my best and keep you posted.I'll look in to the thread from time to time to check on arrangements. I think it can get busy at lunch so might be wise to book a table or bar space nearer the time once you have numbers. It is a great pub with good food. Know it from as far back as my student days.....

I guess there won't be any cheese around then.

Did someone mention no cheese?

So that would be 2 Scottish posters and a Liverpudlian then. Unless something crops up unexpectedly I plan on coming. That'd make 3 which might be construed as a few i suppose.
We don't want to appear elitist by the way, doors open to anyone regardless of ethnic origin

I dont want to be part of a group that have standards low enough to let me in. Sorry!

;-)

Paraphrasing Groucho Marx.

hi lez, as carra says great central venue with good food, would love to make it & meet y'all, but as i'm 2000 km. away, not very feasible. maybe if you have a reunion 6 months later, as i hope to be in écosse for xmas...if i can find someone to feed my cat.

Lez Lee says:
Hi Andy. Have to get your cat a passport and bring it with you! Now we've got this thread you can post on here when you're coming. Shouldn't be difficult to organise a pub lunch.

In reply to an earlier post on 19 May 2011, 19:01:35 BST
not sure about travelling 1250 miles with a yowling trapped moggy stinking the car out, lez. he'd probably hate it as much as me.

In reply to an earlier post on 19 May 2011, 19:06:48 BST
Table?? What do I do with that?

china cat says:
Hi Monsieur D - I thought you were aiming for a November visit and that there was an Edinburgh PPU planned to accommodate? As Lez says though, easy enough to organise something less formal if your plans have changed.

Posted on 19 May 2011, 23:38:10 BST
Lez Lee says:
china, any Edinburgh PPU in Nov. has been pretty much knocked on the head because of Xmas shopping, inclement weather, soft Southerners etc. !

china cat says:
Ah right, dozy me.

nocheese says:
Andy, if you can make it to Edinburgh from the south of France in November, I shall certainly attempt to get there from Glasgow.

(Though I'm tempted to offer to go to France and feed your cat).

Posted on 20 May 2011, 10:13:06 BST
hi n.cheese & c.cat, you're both welcome if you want to come & feed my cat, that'd be 1 less worry. not sure when i'll be in écosse, either november or december, depends if someone's available to feed cat. also, it'll only be for minimum time necessary, as i dislike leaving my cat for too long, sleeping in unfamiliar beds & being in scotland in winter on account of miserable weather. also depends on level of parental pressure to be there at bloody xmas (as an atheist i don't tend to celebrate birth of christ). so, several considerations to factor in, but i'll definitely be there either in nov. or dec. - hope to see y'all then. & collette, i hope...?

In reply to an earlier post on 20 May 2011, 11:34:54 BST
nocheese says:
Hi Andy - just asked Collette about the June meeting, and she'll be too skint, but with a bit of luck she'll make the winter rendezvous.

In reply to an earlier post on 20 May 2011, 11:49:04 BST
too skint, m. ? how much does it cost to go from glesga to embra these days ? an armanaleg ?

Not just the travel, Andy, it's the food and drink as well!
