Richard Hell And The Voidoids.
Saw them around 1980 ish.
Bands in Newcastle around that time were 'The Posh Monkeys' and 'Prayer Before Birth'.
And of course, from Zanaga, 'The Jamoonkis' who I believe have reformed after their cultural invisibility period.
Empty jam-jars hanging off ribbons tied to trees have been spotted in the forest near Mila-Mila.
Honest.

Some of James' are pretty dreadful, but by no means all. I do like He Was Eaten By Owls, as it's just so silly. You won't conquer the world but it's fun and grabs the attention. I see a name like that and want to hear the band straight away.

i think Led Zeppelin is the best name ever for a band.

all the names i've seen mentioned are pretty crap in my eyes. each to his own tho'.

i think the bands James Warner mentioned have absolutely dreadful names. truly awful.

band names these days just seem to be random off the wall quotes that mean nothing to me. table with clock on it. sofa and the cushions, fish tank with fish in it.
